It is OKAY to go back to the drawing board
Have you ever felt like you are not making any headway, especially after days, weeks or months of doing something?
Frustration after frustration to the point of getting muddled that you start re-thinking your choice?
No, it is not time to give up!
It is time to go back to the drawing board!
There is no shame in starting over.
Each time, you will be starting from the point of experience as you clarify your goals and business visions.
Accident
I accidentally stubbed one of my toes while on my way to work yesterday.
It was so swollen and painful, and I was unable to weight bear fully.
I sobbed a little and thought how ironic it was that I worked in a minor injury centre, and now I am presenting with one of the many complaints of some patients!
Even though it was excruciating, I still managed to make my day a productive one!
I started by tackling a task that I have been putting off - changing the direction of one of my forgotten niches.
I stared at the blank pages for a very long time.
I knew what I had to write, but I just felt numb and vacant
Positive alternatives
Eventually, I played some Kenny Rogers music and drank some coffee, hoping to make some headway.
Boom! Results!
Not sure if it was the coffee or music I was dancing to, but shortly afterwards, I got my creative juices to start flowing again.
I changed the direction and tagline and re-wrote my About page as ideas after ideas came tumbling down.
It was an amazing feeling.
You know the feeling that you get when you get an idea and buy a domain to push and support that idea?
Yep, that's the feeling!
It was myself, coffee and Kenny Rogers all the way.
I felt so good after retiring to bed later on that night as I thought about my day's productivity
- I changed the direction of my niche
- I wrote and edited two articles, need to add images, and I am good to go
- Created a month's worth of topic ideas
- Resurrected my social media business page
Hmm, It was not a bad day's work after all
Now I am back to planning a new positive outlook for my business
If you are ever in that position like I was,
Don't get frustrated
Get even by using the refocusing technique
You will have refresh ideas and increased motivation.
Not to mention an abundance of positivity!
Until next time,
Simone

Yes, I was tempted and purchased a new domain. That was about 12 months ago. Something, which I don't recall, intervened and that domain sits begging to be seen!
Having read your fantastic post, I believe it is time for me to start over again.
Thanks for the inspiration, Simone. And, I hope your toe is recovering well :)

Nice to know that my situation has inspired do many of us members
That is always my point, Valerie :)
Start again at the beginning. Your wealth of experience and steel determination will positively push you through
It is still swollen but less painful
Trying so hard not to injury it again :)
Thanks so much for your encouragement, Simone.
I will go back to the beginning. I'm looking forward to it but will make sure I have a solid plan before starting. On second thought, following the training will help with planning!
I'm pleased the pain in your toe is reducing.
Take care :)
Hope you're feeling better Simone. I really enjoyed reading your post as I'm questioning my whole blog at the moment (or at least the direction I've been taking). This whole process is very time consuming and labor intensive. It can get tedious and frustrating when you lose patience for the results. So thanks for sharing your experiences. Coffee & Kenny...sounds good :-)

Hope at this time you will be given some sort of hope and redirection, Susan
That's a very tough place to be at any given time
Thank you for the support
It was nice you stopping by
It's funny (or not so funny really) your metion of "stubbing ones toe", Simone!
I have recently returned from a very pleasant evening, strolling along the beach here, only to stub my toe on the pavement, crossing the main road!
Is claret flowing? It was actually! But we are back now, ands it's time to sleep !
Speak soon ok!
Thanks for your concern my friend, the bleeding has nearly stopped and I have managed to avoid a trip to the hospital so far!
It won't keep me out of the pool, or the sea though, although the saltwater does sting a bit!
There is no shame in starting over. It actually means you are clever. If something doesn't work, a lot of people will continue to do it and wonder why they are not making money. It is the exceptional person who changes the way they do things. Well done.
Thank you Stephen
For a minute there, I had to check the username to see if it was you :)

It is definitely awesome, Nichola
Toe is getting better every day
That is when I stop stubbing it on furniture ;)
