This head dress that I'm wearing is called a gele. African headwear. I love the clothes of Africa. As you see I've been to Africa and wear the gele very well. I have other pictures to show later on in my posts. I will also have some pictures of African attire that is worn most of the time in Africa. Yes they do wear normal everyday clothes like we do here in the USA. Matter of fact they have a great style .

My interest is in the clothing all over the world. I've been to many places and have seen many styles of clothing. But this African style is my favorite. I have a few outfits here with me but to wear them daily is impossible for me. Just to wear this gele is quite difficult. This one was put on me by my sister-in-law. I'm a professional seamstress and I also see the difference in sewing. The machines are the same but the style of sewing is much different.

I'll be back to update about more of the clothing from Africa.

Ok, I would like to add another gele that I wore when I was in Africa. It was just a trial to see how its done and how it would look on me. Personally, I like it more than this blue one you see on me.

Hi Naisha. My wife and I were missionaries with the Christian Church in Africa for 12 years. We lived in Cape Town, Kimberley, Johannesburg and Accra, Ghana, West Africa. The African clothes in West Africa were most colorful. Men wore the Kente cloth toga style for formal occasions. The women were elaborately and colorfully dressed as well.

yes, The cloth is colorful and beautiful. I had a choice to marry in traditional wedding dress or African tribal cloth. Well, I"m from USA and can marry in traditional anytime. This was a chance of a lifetime to wear tribal cloth.

Clothing from all over the world sounds like a great niche :)

Thank You so much. It does interest me.
