Why you should spend time in the Live Chat
As someone just starting out with no knowledge of what internet marketing was about, my impression about the live chat was that I could only spend time there when I have questions to ask. Of late, I have come to realize that it is not a place where IM experts sits around waiting for people to come and ask questions but rather a place where everyone come to share, learn and network. We all have something to learn and share, visiting the chat room helps to accelerate our learning process.
Questions only come to play when one realizes that they require answers to some issues/problems, unfortunately, there are lots of issues/problems we should get answers for that we are not even aware that we need to seek answers for, that is to say: WE DO NOT KNOW THAT WE DO NOT KNOW. At the live chat, we sometimes find answers to questions we are not aware that we should be asking.
Spending time in the chat does not necessarily mean you have to be an active participant, one could just spend some minutes watching; there will always be an opportunity to learn something new as people post their questions..
Another value that I have found is that it opens one's mind to different possibilities and options and helps you to identify how you can work effectively. When someone ask a question or makes a comment, people provide varied solutions and possibilities thereby widen one's options; something that cannot always be achieved by reading or listening to a training on that particular issue.
As an online marketer, you can sometimes find the internet to be a cold and lonely place. The ability to stay in touch with other people who have got similar goals, needs and problems can see people through their trying periods. With forums you get to share your issues and wait, sometimes FOREVER, for someone to respond. With the LIVE CHAT, the response is instantly; it is like a one on one conversation with friends and colleagues just that you do not get to see them and they, you.
So, accelerate your learning and earning by participating regularly in the chat. Whether you are asking or answering, you are adding value to the lives of others.
Please post comments about the valve you find with the live chat.
Thank you.

Have learned much from chat, since my first sign-in as a newbie. You are so right, WE DO NOT KNOW WHAT WE DO NOT KNOW. I think we could also say, when you know you find what more you do not know, ask to know more. Learning is a forever thing, teaching IS valuable 'to the lives of others', live chat is the next best thing to being mentored with all the tenacity you can muster. Thank you for your blog and your time in chat.
Thanks so much for this, you have just made it clear to me exactly what next to do after joining WA. I am still relatively new to this and have been a bit taken aback by all that needs to be done. But reading you write up has just raise up the raider level of my confidence.
I would be lost without it. It is one of the best features here as it gives you direct contact with people who are successful and can help you.
Hey Shawn. Thank you for taken time to share you view. It is indeed one of the best features of WA. Knowing that you can find answers instantly make it more so. It's like taken lessons directly from world class tutors without having to pay any tuition or go through the formalities of being admitted.
A lot of times I don't go on there because I don't want to butt in when Kyle and Carson or anybody is on there trying to work with the new folks. I do it sometimes when it is far better not to so I hang back.
I too, just watch. Can learn a whole lot just by being quiet and not disrupting. You are so right about finding things you don't know and need to. It is one way I've gotten educated about stuff I otherwise wouldn't even think of.
Hello Daniel. Thank you for sharing your view. I also try not to jump in when new members are trying to get answers to their questions/queries. But I sometimes notice that even when you do, someone pops up to attend to you (i tend to do that myself if I have an answer to the persons question), which makes the live chat such a valuable place to hang out.
During my live chat hangout time, I normally copy out any new information, tips and opinions I gather and save on a page for further reading and in-depth understanding,
I do believe that there are a lot more ways to learn if you can get creative with your method of learning. :)
I had that very thing happen last night. I was specifically asking one person who didn't take the time to answer me but someone else sure did. Sometimes I ask questions I think I'm expected to know by now and therefore get passed.
Yes, there is almost always someone following along that goes to bat. It doesn't matter who it comes from. The query usually gets answered if the chat isn't cooking along too fast.
I also knock just once. It's something my father has severely disciplined me for one...
1. Asking for something in the first place.
2. Having the audacity to ask again having not been given an answer.
I see people ask something two three or four times on the Chat and that makes me cringe. It isn't the best thing to do it like this but it's so ingrained. Some people are more persistent that way and I need to learn it myself. It sometimes takes more than once to get needed attention.
It is a good lesson in itself, knowing it's the right thing to do but something very hard for me to learn.
The culture of asking that I also grow up with is almost like you have mentioned; only ask if you truly have no other option and when you have to ask, do it once and move ahead. So rather than ask a question, I would go digging to look for answers myself. Overtime, I came to realize that to succeed I needed to make the rule a little flexible and if it has to do with something that will hinder my progress I should be persistent in asking for help.
I have not totally imbibed this new a way of thinking as the old way still come to play every now and then. Recently I had an issue that I could have just gone to seek help for but decided to sort it out myself, after wasting valuable time searching, I was forced to ask. The fact that I was able to ask and ask and ask prompted me to write the blog on Persistence: A Vital Tool for Success as a way of reminding myself and others who might hold the same view that it is better to ask and push if need be, so as to make a headway.
Hey, good post. Something important about learning IM, is you have to just get stuck in and try things, then you can come to the chat and ask specific questions. This is FAR better than what some people do (especially at another marketing forum I won't mention), and that's to ask questions like "how can I make money online". So, with that said, look forward to seeing you in the chat window :-)
Hello Uridium. Happy you found some sense in it and thank you for commenting. i agree that it is far better than most of the other options available out there and the fact that it is a mixture of different issues and opinions makes it more so. Looking forward to chatting with you.

Good day Railu Mustapha,
Reading through some older posts, I came across this one which you posted some time ago. Well, I thank you for having done this post. I learned from it and I really plan to succeed in WA and will definitely follow your advice. I never really looked at the live chat but after reviewing a few I see that you are absolutely right.
Thanks again and have a great day.
Jules
