Audacious Goals - Crush Your Niche & Win Big!
The Brutal Truth About Niche Blogging: 95% Failure Rate & Why Audacious Goals Are Your Only Hope
As a member of the Niche Blogging and Affiliate Marketing Community, dominating your niche has become your job!
This job that you applied for and have accepted is unforgiving. There's a silent secret within the blogging community - niche blogging is like walking through a minefield blindfolded. The success rate? A mere 5%. Yes, you read that right. 95% of all blogs fail to achieve any meaningful traction.
To give you a better understanding of what you're up against, let’s look behind the numbers.
- Total Number of Blogs: According to Google, there are over 600 million blogs indexed on the internet.
- Percentage of Successful Blogs: Do the math - 95% of all blogs fail, conversely, 5% are successful = 30 million.
This isn't just a hunch; it's a cold, hard truth backed by years of data. With over 600 million blogs indexed by Google, only a fraction – roughly 30 million – can be considered successful, The 5% Club. This stark reality demands a radical shift in your approach.
What Would You Do to Join the 5% Club?
As a side note, this post was inspired from watching Jay's Friday Night Class on Saturday morning.
Thrive in 2025: Jay's Ultimate Plan to Niche Domination.
You should plan to attend his Friday Night Classes in person, if you can. These are live sessions where you will have a chance to interact with Wealthy Affiliate's 5% Club.
Audacious Goals! The 5% Club
In his class, Jay rightly emphasizes the importance of setting audacious goals. You have a choice to make about recognizing the brutal competition and understanding that playing it safe will guarantee failure.
Making It Happen
I am a workaholic. I lose 60+ hours a week to the Just Over Broke (JOB) that I have. I also have a personal contract with myself: I will do two hours of “Online Business-Related” work every day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. PERIOD.
I will be one of the most successful bloggers that I know.
How's that for an audacious goal?
You must be willing to do what 95% of others don't:
- Unwavering Commitment: This isn't a side hustle, though 95% of bloggers think so. It requires dedicated effort – at least 2 hours of focused work every single day.
- Ruthless Prioritization: Time is your most valuable asset. Identify and eliminate time-wasting activities.
- Data-Driven Strategies: Rely on data and analytics to guide your decisions.
- Continuous Learning: The blogging landscape is constantly evolving. Stay updated on the latest trends and best practices.
Agreeing to set Audacious Goals is like setting New Year's Resolutions. We all have great intentions, but do your new resolutions make it to Valentine's Day?
The Power of AI, Content Calendars, & Creating a Winning Plan
Many bloggers struggle with "Time Issues" – endless scrolling, aimless browsing, and a lack of direction. When it comes to Shiny New Thing Syndrome, I have it worse than anyone I know. A well-defined content calendar is the antidote that I have found.
Time is the most precious of gifts because unlike any other, once given, it can never be returned or replaced.
I am gifting my time to all of these places:
- Pinterest - Jay's way to dominate a niche works
- Medium - Web 2.0 to rank higher for keyword SEO
- Facebook Business Page - Modified website content
- Facebook Community - "What's Your Plan?" Look for it and join me
- Instagram - Reels
- YouTube - Shorts
- Twitter (X) - Ever call it Twix?
- LinkedIn - Modify blog posts for engagement
- Quora Posts/Questions - Answer Questions for content inspiration
- Quora Group = Niche Mastery Network - Any niche can be profitable
- Reddit - Answer Questions for content inspiration
- Wealthy Affiliate - Time is spent here
- 4 Websites (3 in infancy)
Can you keep up with all of this? I couldn't. I started writing notes to myself on a desktop calendar. Then I graduated to sticky notes. Thank ChatGPT for AI.

Let's face it Niche blogging is hard work and when the promise of fast money too many go out sadly. It is not easy and if you're not in this for the long haul just give up already.
I have failed so many times its not even laughable. So many of my sites go down from wicked and jealous people who hack sites to the shiny stuff that takes your attention away from what could have been.
The winning formular is to stick it out. Look at the stats and analyze. If its showing promise, then stay the course.
Thanks for the article man and AI is the future.
Mike. we have all been there. The life of a blogger. I appreciate the comment and have joined your network.
I like to find the small wins to keep my steps going forward.
But for 2025, what audacious goals do you have?
Using the community to lend a hand we we need to stand up again.
MrDon
Great Post Don, I have been in the 95 percent a couple of times, Started but didn't commit to the process to be successful. Not anymore. 5 percent club, here I come!
It all starts with Audacious Goals, what are yours for this year? Get them in writing, let eveyone know, and work to achieve them.
2025 is the year we all succeed! 5% Club Memberships available!
Don
I have them in writing, I have them in Big Bold letters on the wall above my computer. I will spend 4-5 hours EVERYDAY for this entire year build my business. No excuses... Failure is not an option!
Audacious message. To be successful we have to give our all. As you said 95% fail and the business statistics on overall business failure are not that far behind.
Like you i work the social media platforms but stick to4 as i don't want to spread myslf too thin. Also, lol, dislike Reddit which i think toxic..so one less to worry about.
However
Great message
Steve
Steve,
Reddit can be toxic, I agree. Unfortunately, Google continues to serve it up as front page news.
Even bad publicity is publicity when the goal is to get brand recognition.
Setting Points Solves The Gray Apocalypse = Top 4 spots on Google
Your approach to focus in on the platforms that you use has been born out of the years of experience you have, knowing where your audience resides.
Thanks for the reply and have a great 2025!

Hey Don. Thanks for sharing. Jays class was very audacious indeed.
"Journey to Creating a Content Calendar" brought me to your X account so I started following you there. Mine is @Steeltruth7
The biggest thing I need to work on is focus and productivity. There’s so much info about being a successful blogger out there, each with a different perspective, that it’s hard to know what advice to follow. 3-5 post per week/ 5-7 per week, etc. Most I’ve ever published was 7 in a month.
Of course, I’m a big believer in DOING.
Growing up, the only thing that made me a better guitarist was actually PLAYING the guitar. But still, we all crave some helpful guides on the way, whether it be reading or 1:1 help from time to time.
Content calendar feels a bit rigid for me but I would like to have one as a guide at the very least.
I’m thinking of finding maybe 10 keywords at a time, come up with titles, put them on a calendar or spreadsheet, then start writing content one at a time to boost my publishing velocity. Catherine shared a really good prompt where GPT would help me with topics per month for the whole year.
Steve,
My content calendar is rather lax due to my schedule..
I publish one post a week on my main site, usually on Mondays, The images that I used in the post are now turned into 10~15 pins. Scheduled on Buffer.
Tuesday I go after converting Monday's post to the Reader's digest edition for Medium. IG & Twitter, get dedicated time.
Wednedsay is LinkedIn, and usually one of my other sites.
Thursday is Shorts & Reels. Playing with AI Generators and Canva. Sidetracked on occassion if you have seen my YouTube channel.
Friday is FB, FB Community WYP, & Quora Group NMN
All while sneaking in each day to WA, Whats Your Plan, Niche Mastery Network, just to make my presence felt.
Sat & Sun I am on Quora & Reddit for inspiration and New post creation. Monday starts the whole circle again.
You mentioned that you do not do all of these socials, Wednesday & Friday are open for your 2nd post of the week. That gets you to 8 a month. A new record!
How does that sound? I have a sax solo the just kicked in on YT!
Don
PS The calendar is only for visualizing the routine. Your brain sees what you are supposed to be doing, and it will drag the body along.
Here is a prompt for a topic map. Change the keywords in the brackets. You can change the 10 to 40 and pick and choose what strikes your fancy. If you use Bard, sorry Gemini, he will even put it in a spreadsheet if you wanted.
Help me develop a topical map with the best chance of helping me rank for long tail keywords in [Personal Development] on Google. Give me 10 semantically relevant but unique topics under the main category of [Productivity Hacks for Remote Workers] and for each give me 10 different variations of the topics that each address a different search intent. Prioritize transactional intent. Make it in a table format with the following columns: Column 1 - The unique semantically related topic, Column 2 - the different variations, Column 3 An intriguing clickbait style title.”
Let me know if this helps.
Don
Thank you Don. I’ll try it out and let you know.
