To ChatGPT or not to ChatGPT … IS THAT the question?
It seems that lately the new kid on the block ChatGPT has everyone talking.
So thought I'd catch-up with him and here is what transpired ...
I prompted the ChatGPT to write as an expert and explain how a content creator can use chat.openai.com usefully to create expert content.
This is what it came back with…

- Define your goals: Clearly define what you want to accomplish with your content, such as educating your audience or providing a new perspective on a topic.
- Provide context: Give OpenAI as much context as possible about the topic you want to write about, such as key points and related concepts.
- Be specific with your prompts: Ask clear, specific questions to get the best results from OpenAI. The more specific your prompt, the more relevant the response will be.
- Review and refine: OpenAI's outputs are meant to serve as a starting point for your content, not a final product. Review the generated text carefully and make any necessary edits or additions to ensure the content is accurate and meets your goals.
- Utilize OpenAI's capabilities: OpenAI's language model is trained on a vast amount of text, so it can generate text on a wide range of topics and styles. Take advantage of this and explore new ways to use OpenAI's capabilities to create unique and engaging content.
By following these tips, you can use OpenAI's chat interface to effectively generate expert content and take your content creation to the next level.
Next, I prompted it to …
Write me a 600 word summary as how to “clearly define what you want to accomplish with your content, such as educating your audience or providing a new perspective on a topic”.
It responded with the following…
Defining the goals and objectives of your content is a crucial step in creating effective and engaging content. Whether you want to educate your audience or provide a new perspective on a topic, having a clear understanding of what you want to accomplish can help guide the content creation process and ensure that your content meets the needs of your target audience.
One important aspect of defining your content goals is to understand your target audience. Consider who your target audience is, what their interests and needs are, and what motivates them to engage with your content. This information can help you identify the most important topics to cover and the best way to present the information to your target audience.
Once you have a clear understanding of your target audience, it's time to define your goals for the content. This can include educating your audience on a particular topic, providing a new perspective or unique angle on a topic, building brand awareness, or generating leads. Whatever your goals may be, it's important to be specific and realistic about what you hope to achieve.
Next, consider the format of your content. Will it be a blog post, video, podcast, or some other format? The format you choose can have a significant impact on how effectively you are able to achieve your content goals. For example, if your goal is to educate your audience, a video may be the best format, as it allows you to provide a visual representation of the information and engage your audience in a more interactive way.
Once you have defined your content goals and format, it's important to create a clear outline or plan for the content. This can help ensure that your content is well-organized and easy to follow. Consider using subheadings and bullet points to break up the content into smaller, more manageable chunks. This makes it easier for your target audience to absorb the information and stay engaged with the content.
When it comes to creating the content itself, it's important to focus on quality over quantity. Your target audience is looking for information that is useful, accurate, and well-presented. Make sure to fact-check any information you include in the content and present it in a clear and concise way. Use visuals and graphics to help illustrate key points and include quotes or statistics to support your arguments.
Finally, be sure to promote your content effectively to reach your target audience. Share it on social media, include links in your email signature, and reach out to influencers or thought leaders in your industry to help spread the word. Additionally, consider using paid advertising to reach a wider audience and drive more traffic to your content.
In conclusion, defining the goals and objectives of your content is a crucial step in creating effective and engaging content that meets the needs of your target audience. By understanding your target audience, defining your goals, selecting the right format, creating a clear outline, focusing on quality, and promoting your content effectively, you can create content that achieves your goals and resonates with your target audience.
Lastly, I took what it had written and tweaked the generated text with my own words …
