Hello community,

What does this mean "Structured Data > hentry (markup: microformats.org)"?

I had 3 URLs previously with this message and I ignored them but no

This helped me some but I think these other suggestions you have I am going to look at also. But I ran into this and this was the referral I was given. Here it is if you want to try it.
https://tinyurl.com/yctlzlcz

Thank you Melissa. I'll look into it and hope it will work for me as well.
Best,
Mona

It is kind of a confusing video but it helped with a couple of issues. I think I will combine it with what others are giving you here and try it with both

I tried the instructions in the video. It fixed the title and the date of posts but not the pages and not the categories. I also couldn't fix the author. Although I have comments on all my posts but picking a sample post didn't help as the author was missing. RankYa created a plugin that can fix the author but I'm hesitant to use it.

I am still working on this one as well. If I come up with any more I will let you know.

Thank you.

you are welcome

Thank you very much Vic.
Best,
Mona

most welcome Mona!

Hi Mona,
Yes. This is an issue I had recently on one of my sites. I found this article, which helped me solve them. https://wpcolt.com/fix-hentry-errors-wordpress/

Hope it helps?

Sean

Thank you Sean. I'll look into it and hope I'll be able to understand.
Best,
Mona

No worries. Let me know if you need more help.

Hello community,

Google identified 3 submitted URLs from my website marked 'noindex' and informed me that index coverage maybe negatively affected in Google search resul

I have a couple of these and followed same step and I am sorry I can't help you but I would like to see what others have to say.

Did you have a Privacy Policy page marked as "noindex" in Yoast or All in One SEO?

The privacy policy yes but the 3 affected URLs are actually posts tags.

Hello community,

How to fix this message on Pingdom:

"The following publicly cacheable, compressible resources should have a "Vary: Accept-Encoding" header".
<

Marion to the rescue again and good because this question was beyond me.

Tried and true

Elaine

You'll get a lot of this sort of advice at Pingdom Mona. What it boils down to is shaving a few milliseconds off the load speed which is not enough to worry about.

Sort the results by 'Load Time' and fix the most obvious stuff, usually images.

If it's only images, then it will be easy :)

Thanks Marion.

Hi community. I'm thinking of changing my theme to a new one. I went through many themes here at WA but didn't like any. What if I chose a theme from another source, will there

Haven't thought down that road, but if it works for your material, I would probably check with tech support before transferring anything.

All the replies I got say yes I can but it's a good idea to check with site support. Thanks Xavier.

I agree with Wayne in that you will probably have to pay for them. Check out Kyle's training for the sites he recommended.

Tried and true

Elaine

In Kyles videos he offers outside sites for us to go to, I would say no problem.

I guess many will be themes you have to pay for!

Wayne

Thank you!

Yes you can, but they are all paid themes. You can try Thrive, Divi, etc.

Thank you.

Good question, I was also wondering about this myself

Yes, you can. Check the replies I received.

Hello community,

I did a "page speed insight" check on my website and received the following optimization suggestions:

1) Eliminate render-blocking JavaScript and

I have the same issue. I do not think that compressing the images will take care of the javascript issue. There is a post that I found that walks you through how to correct this. I haven't tried it yet but here is the address for the correction.
http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-fix-render-blocking-javascript-and-css-in-wordpress/

Let me know if it works.

Thank you very much. Yes I realized that compressing and/or resizing images don't work always. I went through the article and it suggests using plugins. However, no guarantees that they'll work or they might cause breaking the website.

If you go through the suggested solutions, you might find that the cause of this js issue is usually a widget. In my case, the twitter widget came up in every speed analysis report. I'll test it by deleting it or maybe changing the widget to another one and see if this works.

You are right. I decided to remove the jaaxy widget on my website and now I have green on my report!

First of all, make sure SiteSpeed is switched on.
Secondary, you should tinypng all your images on your site. This also includes your themes folder's images. They often are not optimized either. Optimizing everything has helped me greatly.

There is something one can do with code too, but I am not too sure what to advice you there. In my opinion that part is not required, the images will take care of the biggest amount.

There is one other thing though you can look into:
amount of plugins. Some plugins also are lazy and let you download a CSS or JS script file from their server instead locally from your server. Each of these requests are not cached and done on every page load and therefore a major slowdown for your site.

Okay I realise that the latter is complicated, so if its too hard to understand, concentrate on the:
1) tinypng your uploaded images
2) tinypng theme's images
3) amount of plugins
4) sitespeed switched ON

You can use FTP to download - TinyPNG and upload the images again to your site: Steven

Thank you Steven. I started with compressing and reducing the size of the images I used on my website. I'll run the test again and see. The other points are already taken care of.

Mona

I have been using Tiny long. It seems to help a bit. Thank you.

it does help and it also helps if you download your theme / your entire site with FTP and actually tiny everything that you find of image material. Often themes have not been compressed either.

Having said that, I made most improvements by removing remote javascript files such as are linked in most plugins. I reckon a good plugin uses local javascript files on your website hosting, instead of externally linking them. That way SiteSpeed can also optimally optimize your website.

Bad plugins have to go and good plugins can stay. I must say it is hard to weed the bad ones out though.

Steven

Thank you Steven. I don't know much about javascript. I'm still trying to understand. However, I installed a plugin called WP fastest cache that should automatically reduce the size of files and delete cache and so on. I think the javascript is a premium feature of the plugin.

How did you remove the remote javascript files again? I think something is missing in the sentence.

Yes I know what you mean. I removed Jaaxys .js plugin and I had green on my PageSpeed Insights numbers.
