A Dollar A Day!
Yesterday I responded to a post on a discussion and I like what I said there so much that I want to share it here. (Excuse me while I work the kinks out after patting myself on the back)
The original poster was concerned about the expense involved in becoming a premium member. To him $47.00 is a lot of money. He wondered if it was really worth it and if he would be able to recoup that investment in the first month. I and others pointed out to him that the annual membership is cheaper in the long run, which is true as far as it goes. But if $47.00 seems like a lot of money, $359.00, even if it's only once a year, is going to seem like a whole lot more. Is that investment worth it?
The first thing to do if you feel like that original poster is to take full advantage of the free membership. Take the free training courses and set yourself up a free website. You have absolutely nothing to lose but time and you will have created a business for yourself out of thin air. Having done that you will be much more able to evaluate if the premium membership is worth the money. There are a lot of resources available at Wealthy Affiliate for free. There are a boatload more available to premium members.
If you take a monthly premium membership it works out to about $1.57 a day. If you purchase the annual membership it is only $0.98 a day. A dollar a day. Believe me when I say that as initial capital outlay for a business, any sort of business, that is minuscule. And the amount, and quality, of training to be had here vastly exceed what you could get elsewhere, either on or in school for far more money.
But is it, in fact, worth it? I am brand new here myself. I don't even have my website fully built yet but I have received messages or read posts from three or four people who have been around here a long time and they have all told a similar story. You will not recoup even this tiny investment in the first month. They all say that it took them two to three months just to make their first dollar. It took about six months to start making a steady income. And it took a full year, or more, to start making a living, to actually be able to quit their previous jobs and devote themselves to affiliate marketing full time. But it seems that everybody who perseveres does eventually get to that point, earning a living. It takes time, it takes effort, it takes patience, it takes perseverance but if you put in the work you can succeed at this.
So, if you feel like $47.00 is a lot of money, what is there in your life that you could cut out that would net you a dollar a day? Do you smoke? You wouldn't even have to cut back by a pack a day to get your dollar. Do you enjoy a beer after work? Even if you buy it at the store instead of going to a bar, it's about a dollar a bottle. Do you buy your lunch instead of taking it with you? There's at least a dollar. How often do you order pizza, or even make frozen dinners instead of cooking at home? Cook even a couple of times more a week and that will probably give your dollar. What is your cable TV bill? Do you have premium channels? If you gave up your premium channels for a premium membership, I think it would pay off handsomely. Sometimes there literally just is not another dollar a day you can squeeze out of life. Sometimes there are things we just don't really need but have become so accustomed to that we don't realize they can be done without.
And finally, if there is truly no other recourse, borrow the money. Hit up everybody you know, parents, grandparents, siblings, cousins, inlaws, friends, anybody. If twelve people will each lend you ten dollars with the understanding that you will pay them back next year, you have your annual membership. And I think that if you stick with it for a year, you will easily be able to pay them back. I borrowed my money from a credit card. I am not worried about repaying it.

I'd say this is by far the best investment I am making and I don't even really have the $$ for it. By far iv learned so much !
Nice blog post. I am going to go yearly, but I have some other financial commitments I need to get taken care of. But then... I will be going yearly. Either way, it is worth every penny. Even though I haven't made a penny yet...

I couldn't agree more with all what you have said. There is ALWAYS ways to save money. I was paying monthly for about six months and when the Black Friday special came up, I jumped at it. (If I remember it was $299) I'll be honest and say that, as of now, I don't have a website....but I have an idea and I have the rest of the year to devour the content here on WA before I have to pay again!
To anyone that may be doubting whether to go annual or not....find the money somewhere, you won't regret it :-)
