My dashboard says I have updates(wordpress 4.3) and I am not sure should I do that right now.
You should make any updates on your WordPress, themes and plugins when they are available. It's best to make a back up of your website before you update though. Here is a video on how to do a back up. How to Back Up Your Wordpress Site - Using Tools Export

I would like to explore this niche but it could go down many paths I am not sure if it is to broad. It could be finding your purpose in life after a divorce, death, or finding happ
I don't think it is too broad. It is an umbrella concept for discovering what one care's about and what gives meaning to one's life.
You can write about categories such as after divorce, death, etc. but the process of searching for meaning probably has nothing to do with religion or marital status and more to do with awareness of what we care about deeply as individuals in our own right.
You can then use keywords to target specific audiences for relevant content, such as 'after divorce' or 'after losing a loved one' etc. because people from different walks of life are searching to find their purpose, especially after challenging life events.
That's not to say you couldn't narrow it down to a specific group of people, if that is what you want, but it would be harder to expand later to different audiences if your domain name is something like Purpose After Divorce dot com. ~Jude
My thoughts are similar to Carolyn's as far as a niche. Carolyn, i love yours. My follow up question though would be what kind of products could you attach to that aside from books and programs, etc.?
yaelynn from some of my research I done on amazon I found lots of books pertaining to finding your purpose
