Meaningless employer statements part 2

This is the second in a series of 14 inane and meaningless employer statements. To continue:

4. I need to treat everyone equally. Every employee is different. Some need the slightest hint. Others need a swift kick in the rear, Some have earned and merit more freedom over others.

In a world where not ever decision is ideal employees need to know a reward is merited not just on the basis of what is written!

5, Work smarter not harder, What does that say? A. You're stupid and B You imply that what I'm doing should take much less time and effort!

If you know I can be more efficient tell me how! If you know there's a better way show me.If you think there's a better way but if you cant define it say so. Clarity is important here. Admit you don't have the answer and invite solution based dialogue!!

6. That's just Frank being Frank. Used to typically explain someone's poor behavior. It indicates that even though you're the boss you don't like dealing with the issue Frank needs basic explanations especially when dealing with others in the work place.

7. We're in the middle of a paradigm shift! Sounds a lot better than "I don't know what the heck is going on" If you don't know say so and work for a meaningful solution!

As we trek through these human relations interactions see if you can identify fellow members who fall into these traps and seek enlightening discussion.!

Mike - That's just Frank being Frank sounds familiar. Actually we have a guy in our company named Frank that is just being Frank. All of these sound familiar. No wonder no one knows what's going on.

Good stuff! And I've heard all of those. LOL

Frank Being Frank is a new one for me. Thanks. Jay

You're killing me Mike, love it!!! :-)

Hello, Mike. I don't agree with the explanation of #5. If you want to succeed you don't have to work harder but smarter. It's a fact and not an offence.

Number 6: That's what they said about Harvey. Things are changing and we definitely need to quit making poor excuses for men who mistreat women. That kind of poor behavior is criminal behavior!

I wish my old employer followed #4. It was one of the only places that if you were a whiner you got what you wanted. If you were one to rise above whining and stay humble, well you don't get the raise you deserved. I'm of the opinion that if you have to ask for a raise, your employer is in the wrong. Just my 2¢

Anything that's left on your side of the room is a problem!

This was enlighting..Thank you.

Out here in the Antipodes we deal with any cynicism such ideas may produce by playing buzzwords bingo. It's a hoot. So many synergies.

Hi Mike, what is a paradigm shift?

Basically a new approach to thinking a problem out!. https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/paradigm shift

Thanks, Mike!

So basically, the new approach to thinking a problem out is SUPPOSE to be the right approach. Hmmm, I better think this one out!
