'shiny object syndrome'
What is shiny object syndrome? I have been an addict of this syndrome for many years. It has cost me a great deal of money and after all that I am no further forward with my internet business.
SO, WHAT IS 'SHINY OBJECT SYNDROME'
In simple terms it is as a case of jumping from one system to the next hoping this will be the one. Anyone who has pursued make money online opportunities has fallen victim to this during the pursuit of their financial dream. Whilst I have spent a lot of money and many hours following these systems I have not made any money. I must state that this is not necessarily the fault of the system but lack of follow through on my part.
MORAL OF THE STORY
Once you are sure you want to pursue an online business, do some research and once you find something of interest give it your full attention. In other words, do what they ask you to do, question them if you are unsure, but do not just give up and move on to what you think may be easier. (The Shiny Object Syndrome).All online programs require some input from you to make them work. Some programs are more helpful than others but as a general rule they all work (we do not) and therein lies the problem.
WEALTHY AFFILIATE
I can assure you that Wealthy Affiliate is the first program I have come across that offers all you need to make a success of your online business. Work your way through the lessons complete the tasks ask questions as you go, walk away when it becomes too much but do not think it will be greener on the other side (IT IS NOT). There is a lot to get through maybe more than you may have seen on other sites, the difference is that the other sites are just not giving you all the necessary information to be successful.
I hope this calms some of you down, who may on occasion feel overwhelmed. Take a deep breath walk away even if it requires a day or so, then come back refreshed and continue your training it will all come together in the end.

As one who also spent bucks on the thrill of spending three minutes aday and gar ner millions in your bank account while driving a top of the line BMW and traveling to resorts around the world and spending those three minetes of work sitting with your lap top on the beach with a margerita.(world's longest sentance).
WA is the real thing. BTW, check your spelling, sentence structure, typos, etc before you hit the publish button. I like the subject, ideas and tone of the post, but the finishing touches will make it sing.

Yes, somehow it got lost in the translation, however it was a great idea, and rung true with a lot of us.
Thanks for a great blog Michael. A few of us have ended up at Wealthy Affiliate (WA) because we were afflicted by the Shiny Object Syndrome. I am glad I found WA before I spent too much money.

Great Post Michael I agree with you in all that you said. I know from experience but in the last program, they wanted $300 up front before they would even help me get started with no training.
I couldn't afford that so I left and then WA fell right into my lap by accident and that is all she wrote. For me, WA is the greatest program out there to make money online.
Because we get training and help from the community and that is what makes it great. That is from my point of view though.
