how to know if your nieche is right?

We have all been there, trying to figure out the correct nieche. I am currently creating my webpage for the everyday cyclist with relevant blogs and experiences. I am just a little torn as to if this could be a viable, profit making topic. My thoughts have been lacking lately as to how I can make this into something great. Currently, I am contemplating changing nieches and starting from scratch. How does one know that they are progressing in their respective area and how do you know when to throw in the towel?

Most niches can be profitable but it depends on how you set it up. Rather than just promoting products, aim to solve genuine needs of the audience and rest will come.

thanks for stopping by and the wise advice :)

Mitch,

Many question this, I`m relatively new here being a premium member for a little over two months. I did too but I stuck with one of my initial niches and ended up moving forward.

The site I am referring to is for green living, i did a lot of research and connected with like minded people and that really got me motivated in conjunction with the doing the WA courses which really helped me start putting things in place.

As for cycling, off the top of my head I can think of lots of things to write about and monetize - helmets, bike accessories, bike racks, bike tours, bike races, marathons, fund raisers, travel, food for cyclists, drinks for cyclists .......

Keywords might help so go to the WA Lesson on this

thanks for the ideas, I know there are many things to talk about and promote but I'm just having hard time seeing them being monetized. it will fall into place !

Do some research on your niche and never be afraid to network with companies in your niche. Even if they don't have an official affiliate program running, ask if they would be willing to set up a referral program for you.

I did that with the first product I promoted and not only developed an excellent relationship with the company but produced many sales.

Research the products and accessories being sold in your niche to see what options you have and start writing content and reviews. Practically any niche can be profitable if you provide enough value and do your research.

Good luck!

Howie

hey thanks for the reply! that's a great idea ill have to look around at different programs. a little stuck on amazon right now.

Keep your options open. I am not a huge fan of Amazon but I know some people who have been very successful using them. I would recommend expanding your options and using various affiliate networks and private affiliate networks.

Also, don't be afraid to reach out personally to the companies of products that you may want to promote that you may not see an affiliate program set up for yet. Sometimes, they are willing to work with you and work out a referral deal. I did that with the first product I ever promoted and it sold like crazy, not to mention, it helped me develop a great relationship with the company that resulted in more networking opportunities.

Remember, you are not limited to the products you can promote. Dip into a little of everything and you will start seeing returns from various revenue streams.

All the best!
