About Mitchguy
Joined March 2018
A Mechanical Engineer, a former Professor of Mathematics and currently a missionary in Nicaragua working with children, with teenagers and in discipleship training.

I was born in a bilingual speaking town with French and English spoken equally. When I learned to speak Spanish, my French went into the archives. I can still read it, and understand it, but don't ask me to speak it, it all comes out Spanish. My girls like to say that I know two and a half languages.

I lived in nine different houses in three different cities and attended seven different schools by the time I graduated from high school. Since then I've lived in eight houses in three different cities.

I have been married to my wife Lori since 1995 and have three wonderful daughters.

The Lord has been good to us and we love serving Him together in Nicaragua.

Hey Mitch! Thanks for the follow brother! I loved reading your profile and seeing that you are bilingual and currently serving the lord in Nicaragua. My family is from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 so Spanish is a second language for me. My great grand pappy was French, and while I can understand some, I can’t say more than “Bonjour! Je m’appelle Lilly et toi?! Ca va mon ami?!” Lol! Im quite the linguist though. I love learning languages and I pick them up pretty easily! It has always been a desire of my heart to go on adventures for Jesus and I pray I’ll be able to do that some day. Building an online business will definitely open doors for me to serve the Kingdom more. It’s my conviction to make sure that people know who my God is in everything that I do. I’m happy to connect with you here! Thanks again! Love In Christ, Lilly

Nice to meet you here. I can relate all to well about trying to speak one language and another one coming out of my mouth. I need to try your advise and completely archive German since I don't need it. As is, when I try to speak Spanish, German keeps coming out. When I try to speak German, Spanish comes out.

Best wishes to you and your family as you serve in Nicaragua.

May your week be filled with grace and peace.

Hi Sondra,
Isn't it crazy how the language wires get crossed in our brains?

My youngest daughter would be right in her element at your ranch. We have dabbled in raising different types of animals on our property here in NIcaragua. The newest adventure she is going on is raising Pelibuey (similar to sheep).

Thanks for the best wishes. And may you likewise have a wonderful week.

What a blessing to meet you.
I encourage you to serve Him where you are at now. One of the biggest mission fields we have is in our own back yard.

Just like in WA, the basic training and the fine print is where it all starts. The bigger moves are for when you are ready.

I will pray for you.

Really cool to read your background, and awesome work you're doing. I have a similar upbringing, and now work in children's English education in Beijing, China. I highly support what you're doing. I don't know what your exact focus with your children and teen programs are, but if you have any specific needs for resources, please let me know. I'm happy to see how I can personally help and reach out to my network of likeminded people here. Blessings!

Excellent work you are doing with the children teaching them ESL.
We mostly teach the Bible to kids and teenagers. We have opportunity to teach English with so many here wanting to learn it. Most of what we do in that regards is informal. However, our oldest daughter has just started teaching a few teenage girls taking advantage of their summer holidays. She is using basic resources she finds online.

Blessings to you and your family.

I have been considering where I am led to be a few years from now in full retirement, yet considering Central America. The reason I got into building a business here is mobility. When fully retired in a few years love to take my business with me online. Going to follow also since we have several missionaries in different countries followed for different reasons too. :)

That's a tough one for me to comment on. The cost of living in both countries is significantly higher than in Nicaragua. But comparing one with the other, I'm not too sure which one comes out ahead (or behind).

Hi Mitch

You sound a little like me. As I remember, I went to seven different schools: ten if I count college. I spoke Italian ay the age of three because my grandparents were from Italy.

My mother's father taught me Italian, but I can't speak it today. I studied French and Spanish in High School and College. I can speak Spanish better that I can French. Like you, I can read French.

I was trying to learn Russian. I was getting to the point where I could speak it with some clarity. I went to Ukraine in 2016 and had occasion to use the Russian I learned. After I came back home, I stopped my lessons.

I'm following you. Good luck on your journey to learning the WA way.

It must be exciting to be a missionary in Nicaragua. I met a woman at the Flame of Love National Conference in Louisiana in Oct. No probs Mitch and if/when you read my blogs make sure you choose the ones that will help you in conjunction with whatever training you are currently taking.

Also you may not be aware of this but it’s a good idea (only if you are interested in your rank within WA) to click the 'Like' icon within a comment if you like it as I have done with yours.

Obviously you don't have to click every single comment or you will be here all day doing nothing else.

But to click the ones you like that are replies to your own comments will be reflected in your WA ranking because it shows you are getting involved with the community.

Have a great Thursday.

Good morning,
I just wanted to share something that highlights the value of the WA community.
Last night as I was working on publishing my first keyword rich post and I came across "Your connection is insecure" when clicking on the "Home" link on my website.
I went to Site Support and starting filling in the form. To my surprise as I typed in "Your connection is insecure" in the "Question" box, a list appeared of similar posts / questions from members who had experienced the same problem under the title "Suggested Training Related to your Message".
When I clicked on a post by Firestix he had a description on how to fix the problem AND linked to a video tutorial by Marion Black.

In literally less than 5 minutes I had the problem solved.
Thanks.

Hey Michel and welcome to Wealthy Affiliate!

My name is Steve and I'm the owner of IveTriedThat. You signed up through me and I thought I'd tell you a little about myself. I joined Wealthy Affiliate back in 2009, over 7 years ago. I was looking to learn how to supplement my income through Internet Marketing and what I've found was so much more.

By 2010, I was working full-time from home. These days, ALL of my income comes from my ventures online. In fact, my wife just recently quit her job to start her own business as well. Internet Marketing and Wealthy Affiliate have provided us with amazing opportunities (we've bought a house, get to travel the world, and best of all, no longer spend time "going to work") and I'm incredibly thankful to the training, tools, and support here that made it all possible. :)

I'd love for you to see the same level of success. So, if you ever have any questions or need a hand with anything, do not hesitate to get in touch with me. I am here to help!

To get started, you should add a short description and upload a picture. Wealthy Affiliate is a community and having a profile and a picture will really help get you acquainted here.

Anyways, thought I would just introduce myself. If there's anything I can do for you Michel, just let me know!

Cheers!

Steve
