Another Way to Find Pictures for your Site
I see there's lots of great information here about finding images for your web sites, but I'm not sure if this topic has been covered? I just had a great experience, so want to pass it on.
Media Kits
Sometimes when you are writing about a product, the seller has a prepared kit of information and pictures for promotional uses. I was writing about a product called Kamut(R) and sent an email to the vendor saying I was writing a blog post and did they have a media kit with pics. They emailed me back with a box link to 48 beautiful pics and instructions to credit the photos to them. Media kits are a great source of info and pictures and are a mutually beneficial exchange for both you and the thing you are writing about!

Excellent idea, enjoy your adventure. I need to get a camera myself, my smartphone does a pretty good job for photos and video the pictures of the flowers in my profile were taken with my phone camera.
I just use a cheap little point and shoot as well as my phone too. But a nice camera is definitely on my list of things to get once my site is rolling along. Have a great day k!
