On the pages and training and other content in the WA if you see an affiliate link you can share the content with anyone. Makes no difference of the content
All they will see is that content and as you mentioned if they navigate away from the content a pop up box will appear and prompt them to create a free starter account.
I did a little experimenting in a different browser. Both standard content and Premium content they get a popup asking them to sign up. So, either way, there's the sign-up step.
If starter members ask questions regarding something that's covered in later training, I tend to advise them that if they follow the training, that it will be covered in Course X Lesson Y... or something to that effect.
