It's a funny ole game this internet Marketing isn't it, seems that so many folks are taking the challenge, but you know that hat only means that so many more will fail. I've been a member at Wealthy Affiliate coming up for 4 years and knew nothing about what online marketing when I started. Since month #2 I've been able to "pay for my membership" with commissions made form sites I'd built as direct result of action that I'd taken. Here's my own success post:

How do I stop Grinning!
It was 02.40am the time the an eager newbie has to contemplate turning in for the night. I wasn't at my best, I'd been reading and learning and trying to implement what the 8week was tasking me to.

I'd hit a massive hurdle with week 4 and just was not savvy enough to get a webpage up, All my focus was with the basic squid now and article's.....A but upset that I STILL had not seen any cash, I thought I would just go and have a check at what's in clickbank.

I arrived at the familiar blue and white.. "Then I noticed"

Oh there is a tab that I didn't really investigate properly (it says My Account) I click and I see $235 on the left my eyes pop & my mouth begins to curl. Its started. I CAN'T believe it, I let out a triumphant yelp. aware that I really don't want to wake the kids.

I sneak into bed head buzzing with excitement, looking forward to becoming a REAL IM when I say "real" I mean one that actually makes money. Iv'e been down the road with crap program's too many times and made not 1 penny.......and finally dose off.

In the morning I email the news via a page clip of my account to my Captain, Marcus "That geezer is the dogs"...he emails me back and to my shock is talking about the $500+ that I've made!! I don't even know how to read my account I was making money two weeks ago!......I tell ya It's beginning to hurt, how do I stop Grinning?"

What that means is that It's worth me sticking around as to me "this" is my business. If I couldn't access the Internet I'd have to look for a 9-5 like so many others out there. You know if you hang around in one place long enough you tend to get the feel of things and how things flow. You get to see members come and go. you see folks rise from being a newbie to growing into great marketers.

Making it or Faking It...

So how do you know who's making it and who's faking it? Why do I even mention it? Well because it just struck me, folks can be members here at WA have a massive following giving out advice left right and center and still be faking it! Look out for a few simple traits in folks and you'll know yourself who you can follow and who to trust.
  • They don't boast about membership rank
  • They don't boast about how many are following them at WA
  • They don't try to be everyone's friend
  • They don't boast about earnings
  • They don't mind saying "I think this would be better"
  • They offer help in many ways
  • They only chime in with an answer to a question that I KNOW the answer to
  • They don't want to follow the crowd
  • They like to take the best from wherever they can and grow ideas
  • They are out there making money online daily
  • They know that you never stop learning
  • They are here for the long term!
Make sure you follow a Maker not a Faker eh! Time to start taking things seriously peeps...

Reading this really made me smile and was a reminder to keep plugging away in my own work. Nice post!

Cool I must admit that it's the "constant" plugging away that "sets the players apart from the makers"... Wouldn't be "Creative" would you?

Yea, I am "Creative" actually ;o)

I completely "disagree" and that's probably why so many fail.. it's EASY to spot a faker ... I think you missed the whole point of the post!

There is a saying in marketing "If you can't make it fake it" that is just to keep your morals up and encouraging you to take actions, but then you must review all the time.

This is what scammers do. They fake success until they make it. However, I can agree with this statement if you look at it from the angle that we are all "faking it" comparatively as there is always someone else that is smarter than us at what we are doing.

Also, when you get out of school you typically have to fake your applied skills until you can actually make it and start making some decisions.

Great post. It is so easy to want to follow the crowd. I get so much out of your posts, please keep them coming.

Cheers Geez - I sure will

Great post!! When you have hung around WA for a while you will see the difference. Taking action and never stop learning... the two most important things with affiliate marketing!

Wow, what a message: a kick in the butt message. We must stay focus.

Without focus buddy you are proper "leaving money on the table" ... You get what I'm saying right! ;)
My first niche I worked in for 3 months straight ,,, nothing else and it payed off.

Great post. You're so right. Taking action is what count and never stop learning. I'm always surprised by the number of people who actually don#t want to learn. Success certainly isn't going to arrive on a golden platter.

Indeed an "Action Jackson" attitude is needed

Great post, thanks, very thought provoking,
Hudson

Indeed doesn't matter who you follow .. what matters is taking action on training ;)

You hit it dead-on, my friend! Great blog post!

Ain't that he truth!

Very encouraging post. Thanks for sharing.
