Do You Have to Be an Actor/Actrees to be on YouTube?

Many people are afraid to get started on YouTube because they think they have to be an actor or actress to benefit from it.

But that is far from the truth. Anyone can do it, and you do not even need any fancy equipment to get started.

This video will talk about this to show you the potential benefits YOU can get from YouTube, and I will also share some of my own results.

Good morning Mikael,

Congratulations to you for growing your YouTube subscribers to such a large number, that's very impressive indeed!

I follow a successful YouTuber, and I also use his YouTube training course; you probably know who I mean, Mikael! One of his favourite sayings is "Just press record" and "The first video is going to be messy, but just get started"!

I wouldn't say I particularly like being on camera, but creating a video is regularly has helped me to gain confidence. I always think we're better to do something badly than nothing at all, as we have the opportunity to improve!

Thank you for the great advice, I always appreciate learning from people who are successful and have been there and done that!

Have a fantastic weekend.

Roy

Yes the first videos are going to be messy. But they are only going to get better if we get started so I completely agree.

Exactly, Mikael!

Roy

Congratulations on your 350,000. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👍🙂💥💥💥💥

Thank you.

Hi Mikael,

I can't remember if WA has any rules about this but can you let me know what your YouTube channel is called?

When you first started your YouTube channel what resource or resource helped you the most in setting up your channel?

Thanks!

You can see my channel name in the video, but I do not think I am allowed to share a link here.

As for getting started, I just started on my own at first but that also meant I did a lot of things wrong:-) Here inside WA there is some great training about WA now also that was not here when I started, so that is a great place to start. I will now also start doing small videos with tips on a weekly basis, so if there is anything in particular you have questions about, feel free to suggest and I will see if it fits to make a short video about it.

Thank you for such a quick response! I'll check watch the video again to catch the name.

I'm curious why WA does not allow posting links in a situation where a member is asking another member if they mind sharing links to their websites or YouTube channels?

I say that because I thought the idea behind WA was to share ideas and to help one another.

I do however, fully understand why WA would frown upon a member who is blatantly posting links (advertisements) meant to solicit business from other members.

That being said... if you aren't opposed to sharing your YouTube channel and/or website URL could you share it via another method?

My only question regarding starting a YouTube channel (at this juncture)... would be if you have any recommendations for recording equipment and for setting up a space to film?

I actually think it would be ok to share it in this case. But I just do not like to promote it here publicly and also want to make sure people do not think I do this for self-promotion and start doing self-promotion themselves. But if you can not find it in the video, just send me a PM and I can share it there:-)

As for equipment and space to get started, I will try to make a video about that one of the next few weeks. At this time, I will likely only do Vlogs once per week but will put that on the list as one of the next topics. Thanks for the suggestion.

I found it in your video. I saw the name the first time but did not realize that was your channel name.

I look forward to watching your upcoming Vlogs.

Thank You Mikael!

Thank you. Looking forward to sharing more.

Thank you Mikael! I've started my YouTube channel but haven't yet posted any videos as I'm struggling to learn video editing. Plus, I don't know what programs (especially free ones) I can use for video editing, or for on-screen videos like the one you've recorded here, where I can have a little screen showing my face while demonstrating on-screen how to do something. Maybe you could do some training on what programs to use for video creation and editing, especially for on-screen demo type videos.

Kevin

Thanks for the suggestion. I advice to just keep it basic and simple at first. This particular video I did here is recorded and edited with ScreenPal. It is super easy to use and for basic editing it is great to start with. I think it is something like $3 per month I pay for it, so it is very cheap compared to many other screen recorders or editing tools. That can be a great and cheap way to get started.

Excellent! Thank you!

You are welcome

Thank you Michael. Great video. I saw recently somewhere someone claiming you can actually do well with “faceless” you tube videos. Can you comment on that?

You can and some channels are doing well like that. BUT there is also a lot of hype around it and a lot of people giving bad advice and make it look like you can just make poor AI videos and then make a ton of money, but that is not quite how it works.

I am doing some experiments with faceless channels myself also and planning to do more. Maybe I will talk about that at some point when I have tested more.

But, as I say in this video, you can also just do videos where you talk but do not show your face. Many people do that and it can be a good way to start in your niche until you feel a bit more comfortable.

Ok, but what would you have on the screen? It wouldn’t be blank would it?

No it would not be blank. It depends on your niche. In some niches it could be a screen recording where you show something while talking. Sometimes it could also be a Powerpoint presentation where you are talking about some points you have listed there. In the cooking niche it could just be the hands showing while you cook and talk. There are many ways to do it.
But this would, of course, not work for all niches and how it would work depends on the niche.
