Hi everyone,

It took a First Sale to get me to come back and post a blog here. :-)

I received my First paid subscriber on Substack. I have been there almost 3 months now and I am still learning the ropes.

Its been a very hectic week helping a client edit their future ebook/book.

What made it more hectic was Wen has been sick for a whole week with a blood infection and was coughing up blood. She has 3 more days of taking meds and then will go back to the Dr and they will run some more tests on her. It was only on Day 7 that she no longer coughed up any blood.

Its frustrating for me not knowing specifically what is it and how might she have contracted it.

::: sigh :::

I am taking a closer look at everything I am doing and working on being more focused with what income generating ideas I will pursue.

Once I have Substack finally setup, then I will likely pay for a 1 hour coaching session to make it even better.

On the 31st, I start a 5 day Course Creation Challenge and I am hoping that will speed up what I am doing and hopefully avoid mistakes and be more efficient at doing it.

With everything going on, I have not published as much on Medium, but I have still earned some income there.

Happy 2's Day!

Good morning Mel,

Thank you for your blog post, Mel, it's appreciated.

I must admit I don't really know much about Substack and Medium, but I do see lots of people using these two platforms. Traditionally, I have always thought that we are better off using our own blog or website; however, I do things have changed a lot over the past few months. It also sounds like there are other benefits as well.

I'm glad that you have received your first paid subscriber, that sounds good. It sounds like there is more than meets the eye on Substack; I hope you can document your story.

It certainly sounds like you have some interesting projects coming up, Mel.

I hope your wife quickly makes a full recovery, coughing up blood doesn't sound good, but it sounds like she's getting there.

Have a great day.

Roy

Hi Roy,

My wife will go back to Dr on Monday and they will run more tests and hopefully its good news.

Substack & Medium have great potential.

I am paying for a Medium Writing Academy: Writers Mastermind and so far it has been beneficial. I also started a 7 day Creation Course Challenge and it seems good, too.

I want to keep leveling up my income and its slowly happening.

I'm becoming more clear about what to target next.

Nice to hear from you Roy.

Have a great weekend!

Mel

Good morning Mel,

My apologies for the late reply, it's been a busy couple of days.

I sincerely hope you receive good news about your wife, Mel.

I see a lot of people using Substack and Medium, traditionally, I always thought that we were better off to write on our own website, but I appreciate things have changed.

I'm glad that your courses are going well, Mel. One thing is for sure, we never stop learning.

It's really good to see that your income is growing, fantastic news. It's always good to be clear on our targets.

I always enjoy your updates, Mel, I believe it encourages many, including myself.

Wishing you a great weekend.

Roy

No worries Roy. I understand "busy". :-)

Hey, Mel.

I will echo BennettsDad, and say Congratulations on the sale.

But, I hope and pray Wen will be ok.

Did you get my email?

JD

Thanks Jay!

I have received many emails from you. hehe

I assume you're referring to Kindle Vella? Just in time for you to get published. :-)

Mel

Yes, Mel. I only read the first part last night, as I was winding down. So, what do you think? Should I unpublish from Vella and republish on Substack? But, still, publish ebooks/books/audio through Amazon?

JD
