Hi everyone,

My ideal weight is 185 lbs. I started some months ago at 220 lbs. It took a few months to reach 205 lbs. Then I got to 200 lbs and it just didn't seem to want to budge from there.

Finally today, I get on the scale and its at 199! 14 lbs to go. Its so nice not seeing the 2 at the beginning of the number. haha

I will celebrate by going on a water fast for 48 hours then resume my healthier food routine.

The better condition we are in, the more energy we can have which is better for work and life.

That's great - the difference 1 lb can make!

But 48 hour fast sounds like a long time. Have you done this before? My son regularly fasts for 24 hours and I do intermittent fasting of varying lengths, but 48 hours seems a lot.

Wishing you all the best.
Isabella

I've done 24 hours before so if I at least go that long, I will be happy with it. :-)

Way to go, Mel! :D

A pharmacist told me one day last week that she fasted one day a week, eating only one meal. She said she lost 30 pounds in a month. I forget what she called it.

Thanks for sharing Jay! There are a number of different Intermittent Fasting techniques that all seem to work.

You are most welcome, Mel. Thanks for supplying the word I couldn't think of. :D

I am thinking of trying it.

JD

It can't hurt Jay. :-)

Mel

yeah. ;)

That’s a big milestone, Mel.

Breaking out of the 200s must feel like a huge win.

Keep going—you’re getting closer to that goal every day!

All the best,
Boris

Yes. 1 lb less but it feels huge. Thanks Boris

Well done, Mel

Thanks Alex! Good to see you again.

the main thing you are doing right is changing your lifestyle...
so many go on a diet and achive the weight they want and then resume their old lifestyle - wondering why they are gaining weight again and exceeding their old weight....
one word of warning is that you maybe losing muscle mass unless you are exercising to tell your body to leave that alone....
i tend to use the 'smart 'scales where you can 'see' the muscle mass, fat, water, visceral fat and other stats - these can help seeing the increase in muscle mass and a decrease in visceral fat - but the weight stays the same....
you have two ages - your biological age and your lifestyle age....
most have a lifestyle age well beyond their biological age....
keep going Mel....

Thanks for sharing Phil!
