June 7, 2005 Never Forget
(Cover Photo: Memorial to the Unborn)
Hi everyone,
Around 1995, I encouraged, fundraised, designed and with the help of the Knights of Columbus and permission from our local priest, we installed a Memorial to the Unborn in Potosi, Wisconsin.
I might never have done that if you told me 10 years into the future my child with permission would be laid to rest there. Still brings tears to my eyes.
My then wife passed out while her and my 3 daughters were swimming. I was notified and rushed to the hospital.
The doctor told me my wife was pregnant and in that breath I was very excited and in the next breath he said it was an ectopic pregnancy where the child was in the fallopian tube which had ruptured. My wife was bleeding internally and they were going to operate.
Of course, they could not save the child, but I requested that I have a priest come to the hospital to baptize the child which they allowed.

A few months before Melissa Jeane was conceived Wen also lost a child, Amor, which actually led to Melissa Jeane being conceived and she is my pride, joy and princess.
This is not meant to be a religious post and is simply an affirmation of life and a very precious memory to me.
Peace & Love,
Mel Waller

I'm sorry to hear of your losses, but such a wonderful memorial to those tiny babies. My parents lost my sister at the age of 13 months through the negligence of another, and then my mother had a miscarriage at 6 months, a baby boy. Sadly I could only have one child and we wanted at least 2 or 3, but he always has been and always will be our pride and joy. Thank you for sharing such heart-felt memories.
