If You Don't Like People's Comments Then IGNORE Them
Hello everyone,
I guess I have a nerve that is still raw and so this post is intended to address it.
First, If you don't like what people comment on WA blog posts, then just ignore them.
Don't try to create a Story as to why they are commenting the way they do.
A member commented today that they do not like seeing:
“This is such an insightful post”
Great tips, very informative, thanks!”
and probably wouldn't like
"Thanks for sharing!"
Then let me know and I'll be happy to never comment on your WA blog posts.
Regarding AI:
This is the one that hit my raw nerve.
Wealthy Affiliate is a Global Community.
For many members, English is a second language and they may NOT be proficient, but they DO want to participate.
A potential Premium member was lost thanks to people reporting her comments as Spam.
I had to reach out to Kyle and get her account unlocked and it continued and she was locked out again even after trying to provide better comments using ChatGPT.
She's GONE and I guess I can't blame her, but its hard to swallow losing a potential Premium member when they really wanted to be here.
So please just ignore them or directly take your complaints to Kyle.
We should be here to lift each other up not tear others down.
Think about it.

Hi Mel,
With all due respect, considering that we have both been on this platform for many years, your post and its topic bring to mind four key aspects:
* Superficiality
* Quantity vs. quality
* Flattery
* Chasing pennies
Unfortunately, on the WA platform, the first three points lead to the fourth. Without referring to any specific person and without going into unnecessary stories or explanations, I will highlight only three essential aspects:
1. A person does not want to see reality as it is because their perception is not objective. They react to a version of reality they have constructed in their mind, shaped by personal beliefs, self-interest, and ego.
2. A person who consistently settles for superficial things will tend to build something superficial as well.
3. The last point, and a very important one: feedback offered out of flattery maintains mediocrity.
I maintain that there is a significant difference between inclusion (English is not my native language either) and encouraging low-value input. Confusing the two harms the value of the platform’s community.
That being said, you are fully entitled to like or dislike my comment. Regardless of the situation, the effect will be the same for me.
Diana.
Thank you for your blog post, Mel.
I always think the best way to deal with a negative comment, is to ignore it!
Not everyone is going to agree with everything we say, so the best way is to ignore, rather than getting into frustrating and pointless conversations. Having said that, we should be able to agree to disagree and to debate, within reason.
Have a great day.
Roy
I'm glad you brought this up again.
I find it overwhelming to leave a well thought out reply at times. There's a lot of great posts to read! I don't want to turn off email notifications. I want to show my support so if I'm guilty of being "one of those" then oh well.
Comments written with the help of AI don't bother me. You're right, sometimes we need help.
Christina
You are right, Mel.
As are all of the members that have responded previously, to their respective points.
I think you said it best when "take your complaints to Kyle." But, Myra also had a point when she said, "People really do need to take the time to not allow their egos get the best of them and just help build each other up and not tearing others down."
I think the complainers might have had a legitimate basis the first few times, but then their ego got in the way, and it became a crusade in their eyes.
All of that being said. If a person can articulate in English (here) or another language(elsewhere), they should.

Glad you posted this Mel.
I belive posting that type of comments on WA blogs are also unnecessary. I admit I once did complain about language, but it was because a spanish speaker was getting spammed and I didn't see french getting spammed, so it bugged me.I mean getting reported by WA members.
I also admit there was a comment that almost became an argument towards me. Over seven years of being on WA, this had never happened to me, so I was a bit shocked. I commented on a question about site comments and she completely flipped saying she didn't ask for my opinion.
