Affiliate Marketing - One month later
Here I am one month into Wealthy Affiliate. I had always wanted to start my own website and quite possibly earn money by working from home but thought there was no way someone with little knowledge of website development would be able to get it done. I also came across online scam after online scam. I had grown tired of those how to make money online scam free ads and decided that maybe this wasn't ever going to happen for me. Then, I found Steve from I've Tried That. Fortunately for me, I stumbled upon his website http://bit.ly/2uLIZAE and decided to try Wealthy Affiliate's Free Trial. That is really all it took. I was hooked and quickly signed up for a Wealthy Affiliate Premium Account.
So, now that you know that, I'm sure you want to know what WA has done for me thus far. Well, here is just a bit of what I have learned.
- I've learned how to develop a website in a step by step way

- I've learned how to create pages and posts on my site.
- I've learned how to insert images so that I can directly show people the progress I am making on my Whole30 Lifestyle since this is part of my niche.
- I've created menus and changed things up and added plug ins to my site.
- I've learned how to import videos from youtube to my site.
- I've learned how to look for important key words
- I've been ranked by Google
- I've learned how to input code onto my site so that I can advertise.
- I've learned how to promote different products.
- I've learned how important social media & email are for success.
- I've learned how important it is to ask for help.
- I have traffic on my site.
- I've earned small amounts of money.
There is so much more I have learned and continue to learn. I have a long way to go and I look forward to my journey. It is exciting to know that you can do something you love if you work hard, have patience, and are committed. Wealthy Affiliate is for me. I'm excited about the future ahead.

You accomplishments are very impressive. I'm challenged with Course 3 Lesson 5 in inputting code. I don't understand the purpose and haven't figured out how to input this. Can you lend a hand?

There are many other companies that offer affiliate programs too. Once you set up an account with which ever company you choose, they will give you access to links, banners, etc.... to embed into your website so people who go to your site will have access to click on them and possibly buy something which in turn helps you out :)
Once you get the link you want, you copy and paste it into your post or page on the tab that says "text". Be careful not to mess things up though. usually < signifies the beginning of a section and > closes it. I believe. Don't quote me on that. If you look closely you can see the words you type along with other characters that often look like a gibberish. I normally find where I want to insert the link and space a time or two and then paste in my link. Then, I go back to the visual tab and see how it looks. If you don't like it or feel like you have messed up, just click on the undo arrow.

Melanie: Thank you for getting back to me. I am clear about all of that. There was one point in my training that talks about taking the affiliate link into HTML and posting it after the comments box. Have you done this and what is the purpose?
