The place where I am in, many of the shops and companies have stopped operating completely. Some have reduced the operations drastically. Everyone has a sense of foreboding, at least the way I see things around!

Wherever I go, people are seemingly talking of one of subject, about Covid-19. You open your internet, it is filled with Covid-19! Where ever I turn to, the effect of corona virus is becoming apparent by the day.

I know some people they have isolated themselves completely. Some of them went to their cabins in the forest to stay there indefinitely carrying with them loads of survival supply.

Some of them are in a state of psychological panic and desperation. Why would we be afraid of the situation? This might be a foolish question but hey think again! I know many of the guys around have stopped working voluntarily saying they would have to depend on social welfare and financial support coming from the federal government.

What I see is a world fast changing before my eyes. In the initial weeks, I thought, it was just like any other news, it wouldn't affect me and my family, it was happening, fine. But not here. Lo and behold it has arrived and it came so sleek and menacing, at least to a lot of minds.

This is my point. We are endowed of freedom to choose. Again, at least in our mind! We better choose to be fearless. Why? Either way, fearless or fearful - you cannot change reality. I choose to be fearless. Fearless is more than courage. Courage is not the absence of fear but the control of fear. Fearless is the absence of fear.

The main things about being fearless, OK, being courageous, if you like, are:

1. We can think clearly - we see things in the right perspective. We can see well what is going on rather than consumed with panic. Panic is extreme and irrational fear. I don't want to be in this category, do you?

2. We can think objectively - We can analyze the real thing. The pros and cons and what are the main course of actions to take.

Basically we must pray urgently and continuously, I say must because this is also a must avoid, a must run away kind of challenge.

You cannot beat it with just a tablet or capsule. It needs greater solution - that is why leaders have to give long days of quarantine, initially.

However, with the onslaught increase of victims of this disease. Many places have now been locked down instead or closed borders with the world.

The best solution is prayer and common sense. We can only have these effectively if we are fearless. God is not pleased with those who do not have faith. And you cannot have faith when you are fearful. It is a contradiction in terms. No offense to those who are atheists or agnostics.

3. We can help others to calm down - all we need to do is to be calm and accept the threat besetting humanity. It is a fight of not one country, it is a fight for all of us.

There is a global unity against this vicious virus. We can be an inspiration and a source of strength. Rather than "adding fuel to the fire" why not add water into the fire and make the smoldering heat of fear disappear?

4. We come to realize we are not different from anyone. Big or small, Asia, Africa or the West, old and young whoever you are for as long as you are human, you are not exempted.

We must reach out to those who are in need. At least you could do good deeds again or for once.

5. Lastly, we accept the challenge. We are ready to fight and come what may we resolve to win with our sanity intact.

My dear WA family. This is a time to be sober and truly be safe and careful, without shutting yourselves to the outside world. Find and innovate on how to keep ourselves and our loved ones, safe. If you can afford to stay at home now, do it. If you can add value to the fight against the virus, do it. If nothing else is left for you to do, do have have faith and pray. Again no offense to unbelievers.

Please give me your comments, my friends. What else you could add in being fearless as against being fearful?

Fear of death, the final equalizer, brings the toughest of all worldly opponents concerning fear. The few exceptions who remain steady in the face of death are those whose spiritual foundations, their trust in that unseen spiritual destination have been solidly placed within themselves. Dying is not an easy thing to deal with.

BUT...death comes to all...sooner or later. Acceptance of this fact keeps souls at peace.

Great post Florentino.

Joe

Very well said. Thanks Joe!

Be strong and courageous. God will never leave you nor forsake you. Have confidence in yourself that you will not be affected but live until you finish your purpose here on earth. Let us have an affirmation that; 'we cannot hold by fear', 'we refuse to overcome by fear', 'we are fearless', 'we are not affected' 'we are strong and 'we resist Covid-19.'

Amen! And Amen Pastor Johane! I could imagine your intensity while speaking the same words in the church. Indeed, we will never be afraid of anything in His name! Thank you so much! βœ¨βπŸ’¨πŸ‘πŸ’₯πŸ”₯

It's my pleasure. Thank you.

Welcome,Johane.

Staying home is the best choice, but there times I have to go out. But, I don't let fear paralyze me. If I have to go to the grocery store, I keep my distance from others so I'm not close to anyone who may start coughing or sneezing. I wash my hands as soon as I return home. There are other ways to stay safe and I focus on doing those things. I would rather be proactive than a victim who lets fear control me.

I agree. This is the best way we could do. I am glad to meet you here and it sounds like we have the same standpoint on this matter!

By the way, have a great weekend, Elain, you and your loved ones!πŸ‘πŸŒΉπŸ’πŸŽ‰πŸ”₯πŸ’₯πŸ’•ββœ¨

Nice to meet you as well and agree with our approach to the virus. It has disrupted our lives, caused fear and, to my dismay, the cleaning out of products in grocery stores. I find it sad on so many levels that panic buying just makes the situation worst. There were no shortages before the outbreak and if people just continued to shop as they use to I wonder if we would have this problem.

It is not the pandemic virus that has caused so much damage, it is the irrational fear of hundreds of millions of people around the world! πŸ‘β€πŸ—¨πŸ’¨βš‘πŸ”₯

Even here in Australia the fear has taken over and it is a really bad thing.fights outside shopping centres in a lot of places.sad thing is the most disadvantaged people are suffering the most. This is a big test for all of us.I don,t believe that this is the end of mankind and it will pass.I hope people will realize that too ! Sorry if any spelling mistakes I'm on a mobile,Stay well and calm in a very testing and sad time, tom

Well said, Tom. Sorry to hear the same story back there in Australia. let's keep hoping and praying! Stay safe. I appreciate you giving your perspective and situation there in your country. Yes, this too shall pass! Thank you for the comment. βœ¨βπŸ‘β€πŸ—¨πŸ‘

By the way, have a great weekend, Tom, you and your loved ones!πŸ‘ββœ¨

Thanks you too and stay safe

Hi Florentino, it is the fear of contracting this disease that is bringing the economy to a gradual standstill.

The young and healthy are not dying from this disease. Like Kav says and makes a good point, "many will not catch the disease but will be incapacitated by fear.

Best wishes,
Michael

How sad it is! We are not really suffering from anything but FEAR!
Let's spread hope, calmness, and fearlessness! And stay safe. Take care. Thanks, Michael for passing by!
