My websites all target US traffic and when I use the WA Keyword Tool it always resolves to my country Canada, not the United States when I am trying to get an accurate competit

Thanks Nathaniell and MoritzS...after doing some more research I have now discovered that the WA Keyword Tool is resolving to the google.ca page for some keywords and going to the google.com page for other keywords.

For example if I put the keyword, affiliate marketing courses, in the WA Keyword Tool and check a few keywords that come up for their QSR score, affiliate marketing courses will show the google.com page and if I pick another keyword from the same list such as affiliate marketing training it will show the QSR results with the google.ca results page.

I have cleared the browser cache, set up my default browser to go to google.com, but the WA Keyword Tool still goes to google.ca for quite a few of the keyword terms that I am researching.

Now that I know what is happening I will be sure to watch for the keywords that resolve to google.ca and double check the QSR score manually in google.com

Perhaps Kyle you can check to see what is happening on your end. If you need the screenshots I can send them to you Kyle.

You mean when the QSR "competition" pops up it shows Google.ca ? Have you compared the results from .ca and .com versions of Google ?

I would sign out of your browser if you are using Chrome, then visit Google.com. If it still resolves to .ca, you may want to clear your browser cache, or even look for a way to set .com as your default browser setting rather than .ca.

Once those settings are changed, the keyword tool may start resolving to .com. Let us know how it goes!

Hi,
even though it says .ca in your browser, I am pretty sure that the Keyword Tool only uses google.com to get its results.

I might be wrong with that, though.
Would be nice to hear it from Kyle.
