Trick

So today is Halloween in America, or All Saints Day, in other circles. This is the day we dress up in masks and other costumes and ring strangers doorbells asking for sweets and handouts. We hold out our hands or bag in anticipation of all the free goodies that will bring happiness and joy into our little part of the world. We then repeat this process numerous of times until we cannot carry our vessel of choice and we head home with our bounty of goodies. Then for the next month or so, e stuff our faces with treats, satisfied for a job well done.

For one night, what amounts to a fantasy life is portrayed. Knock at a door and free things are giving to you. For a minimal amount of work, you can come home with loads of goodies just by saying a couple of words to the giver and get royally rewarded. What a perfect way life could be if that was indeed the case for all that we do. Could you just imagined if life was that easy?

Unfortunately, that is not real life. We knock at a stranger door, and besides the crazy look that we will probably receive, there is a great chance that the men in blue with the metal bracelets will be behind us real quick. The bag that we produced to receive our desires will probably be as empty as when we first showed up. As mentioned earlier, life isn't about handouts. Life is hard work, responsibility, and effort. There are many blogs, thesis, seminars and other programs that teaches you different steps to being successful. Here are a couple that I feel is very important:

Education:

Everything starts with knowledge. Learning does not stop at high school, but it is an everyday event. Education can take the form of book knowledge, self awareness, cultural indulgence, and observation, to name a few. We should always strive to build up our knowledge base to help us grow as a person. If you don't know something; seek, ask. research.

Have fun in life

Never forget to have fun. Once you lose this one important factor in your life, it is all downhill from there. Life will beat us up and spit us out if we allow it to. But if you learn to have fun along the way, then life will be worth living and we will be motivated to stay the course. Treat life like a game and reward yourself when you reach certain checkpoints in your life. Life is beautiful. Always search for it that beauty!

Set attainable goals

I have blogged about goals before, so I will not rehash this section. Goals are your benchmark to success. It gives you tangible checkpoints so that you can visually see what you achieved, and what is left towards your finishing point. Be flexible. It is okay to change, rearrange, and refocus your energy. The main point to have a plan in life.

Be Safe

So for those of us that have kids, we will enjoy the easy handout day. We will see their faces as they smile with that sugar high that every parent hates. But when the night is over, let us never forget that we have our own bag that needs filling. Lets go out there and fill our bags with the treats that we deserves.
