Need Donations - NOT Money, But Need Your Help!

Hi Everyone,

Ok, so in my last post I mentioned that I've fallen into helping create a non-profit organization to help Grandparents who are raising their grandchildren who are in need. We are starting in the USA, but eventually want to become international.

The type of donations I need have nothing to do with money. We are trying to create a book of recipes, money budgeting tips, arts and crafts ideas for kids, diets, kid friendly foods, easy quick meals, meals to make on a tight budget, health tips for over 50, beauty tips, decorating on a budget (anything on a budget is great!), parenting and grandparenting tips from all parents and grandparents, and anything else helpful you can think of would be so welcome.

Everything will be put together in a book that will be used for fundraising to help grandparents raising their grandchildren.

I'm joined to a support group and I see some really sad situations on there. A lot of people don't really think about the fact that grandparents are older (yes, I realize that's obvious, so go figure...).

I'm not quite as old as a lot of the grandparents, and I have to say that I'M exhausted a lot of the time with keeping up with an 8 year old boy who has endless energy. But I'm fine (thankfully!). A lot of the grandparents I've noticed though are disabled in some way and most of them have more than one of their grandchildren that they're raising (a lot of the kids are younger than 8). To top it off quite a large number of these kids are also disabled (drug use of parents is the number one reason most of us are raising our grandkids, which explains kids having some disabilities).

Anyway, these grandparents are struggling terribly and there isn't much help out there for them.
