I'm lost, need help

So I've hit a wall. For the last 2-3 weeks I've created this site www.howtobuyaguitartoday.com

But suddenly I've lost all interest in it and I just can't for the life of me find any energy or motivation to keep that site going.

I don't know what to do.

I'd like to have a blog where I can share my thoughts and ideas. But more of a philosophical approach where my target audience is other "existentialist" types like me. People who like to ponder the big questions.

Yet I want to live the "laptop lifestyle".

Right now I'm 34 and had to move back in with parents because I have some strange nerve injury which prevents me from playing guitar (which is what I did in my previous life).

Lately I've been overcome with this terrible depression that I just can't seem to shake off. I hope to find a therapist soon who can help with that.

Tired, lacking focus and clarity.

I still can't tell if this community actually produces success or is it just all "ra-ra" and newbie flash excitement. I'm still trying to figure out what these "13 business models" are that was promised in the ad-speak. So far I've found only one.

Sorry if I'm not really brighthening your day with my post. Just needed to get this stuff off my chest. I'm considering giving up and just crawling into a dark hole.

It wouldn't be the first time.

I feel like such a loser. All my old friends have grown up and got married and I'm nowhere, have nothing except oxygen and a heartbeat. I guess that's a good start and I should feel more gratitude. But I keep on forgetting.

Have any of you felt like that before?

I've been there myself. I don't know if your spiritual or not but you need to be. You don't need a therapist you just need Church. Why spend money when you can get it for free.

You need to be around others that will help you talk to you treat you with kindness and love on you. Believe me it works I've been there and they dragged me out of the hole.

As for are you wasting your time here at wealthy affiliate? Absolutely not you're just in a funk right now and you'll get out of it you'll get out of that hole.

If you've been happy before you can be happy again.

You can reach out to me anytime you want.

Respectfully,
Darin

Thanks for the comment Darin, appreciate it.

I live in Finland so all health care is free. I'm not christian so the church thing doesn't really work for me although I'm sure it works for people who believe in that stuff.

I've never really been happy from what I can remember so it's difficult for me to understand what that could even feel like.

I can understand your position. I can only talk from my own experiences. I've been in that hole before until someone reached down and helped me out. I felt the same way you do right now.

You have to take the first step forward, you have to look for it to see it. New need change that's why I think a church would be good. You'll find a new family and friends, the rest of the stuff will fall into place.

You'll never get out of this hole if you don't look for a way out. I'm reaching my hand down, you can either take it and start to climb out or stay where you are feeling miserable about yourself.

Only you can make the change no one can do it for you. You have to take the first step.

I'm here for you whenever you need.

Respectfully,

Darin

Yes, but there are many other options besides christian church, which is really just an euphomism for something more universal.

As I said, I'm not christian and have no intentions of becoming so as their religion makes no sense to me considering the nonsense they believe in when it has long ago been disproved.

I'm not gonna join an organization that I don't support, that would be pointless.

I prioritize truth and honesty over happiness and belonging, that will never change no matter what the cost to my own well-being.

I know you mean well but and do appreciate you reaching out. I have decided to get therapy and meds so that is my way out. If it helps, that remains to be seen.

I wasn't trying to push my faith onto you. I'm trying to lend a hand if you need it. Certainly, didnt mean to come across as a bible thumper.

Just saying, I'm here if you need to bend an ear.

Hi Markus please don`t give up I started at about the same time as you did and you are farther along with your website than I am and I am a kidney dialysis patient so I know what depression is. You have a great start to your site To your success

Thank you. That really means a lot. I wish you wellnes as well :)

Hi Markus,

I can see some others have already offered some great advice.

Playing guitar is obviously a passion of yours, but with your nerve injury that prevents you from playing, maybe building a site around that particular niche is just making you more depressed. It might be best to focus on a different niche for a while and take your mind of the fact that you can't play guitar right now.

This business takes a little while to get going, so it's going to take some work and patience for the first few months at leas.

I'm curious about the "13 business models" you mention, because I've never heard of that here at WA.

Darren

Wow, that's a great insight about the guitar thing. You know I think you are right, it might be wise to get off that subject for awhile at least. It sure makes me want to play more and more when I am writing about guitars so much. Great advice, really appreciate that.

Yeah Kyle sent a mass email promoting the annual membership and it said (direct quote, this was one of the bullet points in the benefits of annual membership):

* education diversity (we cover over 13 online business models)

I messaged Kyle about it but haven't heard back yet. I'm thinking perhaps its something you get only when going for yearly membership? This is not clear in the email.

I just would've thought it's something you know about since you've been here for a few years.

I'll let you know what he says if you want...

It can be hard when we do not see things going on around us to make things better. Many times there are things going on we just don't notice them.

Look back at why you started the site. Was it because you thought it would make you money or was it because you love what you would be writing about.

If it was just because you thought it would make money there is nothing wrong with moving forward and maybe leaving that site on the side or sale it.

If it is because it is something you would love writing about then remember that and let that love of what you are doing come back to you and will get going again.

Last thing I want to say is just remember that things can change. They can get better. I know they can.

Need someone to talk to or to encourage you feel free to PM me.

Those questions are very helpful because it forces me to get objective which is great cause I'm really stuck in my own head right now so thanks a lot for taking the time to chime in.

I think I chose the niche mostly because it's something I know about and I think that should be enough. So i think the motivation/interest problem is not because of the niche but because of my own attitude or something.

But yeah it cant hurt to play around with some other niches even if it just helps me explore the trainings more, since the hosting is free here anyways so why not. I can always go back to guitar site later or as you say, sell it.

Thanks :)

Hi Markus,
I want you to know that you are not alone in your struggles! Many of us have been in the very same situation.

You will have to decide if you want to continue to work on your original site. It is totally up to you of course. But, if you should choose to put it to the side for now and work on something else, there is no shame in that.

Not all of us are successful with our very first site. Personally, I have 3 currently and sometimes I just can't seem to make any progress on any of them.

Regarding your query about whether WA is just all RA RA.. .well I can tell you, it certainly is not. There are many people who have been successful here, and continue to do so!

And you can too!

You just have to find the right niche for you! Then work it with all your heart.

I wish you great success and prosperity! If I can be of any help, just let me know.

Sincerely,
Tom

Thanks Tom I really appreciate that. I think I will take up your advice and play around with a few different niches to see how they feel. Maybe this will help me identify my sticking point better as well because it's not exactly clear to me what it is at this point (besides the low mood). Thanks.

A couple of weeks is just enough time to get started. You shouldn't feel bad yet, it is too soon for results. From what I have seen in a great many posts is that 3-4 months is where people really start to get traction.

If you can't motivate yourself maybe get a partner to help and pick up the writing and site work when you get down?

Just some ideas.

Xin

Unfortunately that's not possible right now but thanks for the suggestion.
