Windows 10 Automatic Restarts

I "upgraded" from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and got sucked in to believing that 10 was better. Of course they waited until after the option to switch back had expired before they started doing the automatic updates with restarts.

If you're experiencing the same thing as Jude: Windows 10, Does It Drive You Mad then you'll understand how frustrating it can be to have Windows suddenly restart your computer when you're in the middle of working on something.

Me griping about Windows 10 isn't going to fix our problem so here's a solution for you (flawed as it is).

1. Right-click in your taskbar and select Settings.
2. Click the Home button (top left)
3. Click on Update & Security
4. Click Change Active Hours
5. Set your Active Hours to a 12 hour period when you are less likely to be using your computer.
6. Set your Start time in hours, minutes and AM/PM and click on the tick.
7. Set your End time in hours, minutes and AM/PM and click on the tick.
8. Click on Save.

Yes you can only have 12 hours a day to safely work on your computer unless you keep changing the Active Hours.

Make sure you save all your work frequently.
