Ridiculous behavior? Or just plain lazy. blah, blah, blah
So there's this saying that goes a little something like this" A person will always find an EXCUSE for not getting something done unless given a REASON to get it done". Reason why I'm pointing this out is because I see this behavior every single day at the office. Everyday I'm given the excuse to why they weren't able to hit the deadline I gave them.( like it somehow became a favor and is now my issue to resolve for them). But on the other hand will be the first to ask me about the upcoming promotion and the reasons why I should consider them for the position. Are you serious? It's hard to keep from laughing when Im presented this nonsense. I guess the jest of what I'm trying to get at is action will always speak louder than words. When I first joined WA I didn't know much about online business but since I really want to start my own business it made me persevere, and dig deeper. In other words I put action to it. Now my website is almost done and the knowledge I've gained in a short amount of time is priceless. I could have given so many excuses like I don't have the time, Ive got to fly out to another state, etc. but really I'd only be delaying my own success if I did .

Yea, I feel ya..been through that throughout my career as a manager...it's like the old story of the hen and the loaf of bread...these deadbeats don't want to help the process along but when it's time to eat or get paid..they are right there with their hand stuck out!! That has always drove me crazy!! Anyways, girl...you are on your way to tell em all to kiss your a**!! Best wishes for much success...I'm glad to be here with you to climb that proverbial ladder to success! Let's show them all what using your own mind, will and hands can accomplish!!
Hi there!! How did the Easter Birthday go? Red velvet? Im so glad to hear from you.. And yes I agree sometimes its thru demonstration that they will learn. Anyways im looking forward to hearing the successes!! ;)
Oh Maricel...the Easter birthday was wonderful and I so forgot to tell you...I never even expected a cake let alone a homemade red velvet, but let me tell you that you must be a prophet or physic, lol...my best gf baked me one and top it off in the middle was cheesecake...oh my gosh it was divine!! And I didn't even ask for it! It was a wonderful end to a Japanese birthday dinner...she gave it to the staff and they brought it out after the meal and sang with a sparkler on the cake...Amazing..I'll have to download a pic of the cake..I actually mentioned you to her that I couldn't believe it but you had spoke it into being! For that I must thank you, my dear!!

Congratulations on your progress Maricel! Just keep your eye on the prize and know that one day you will be able to leave that office job to someone else and run you online business(es) full time. Keep that positive attitude and mindset, and it'll come sooner than later. Good luck and continued success!
You are so right! Very beautifully put. I'm working on a tutorial page right now and I kick my butt this morning to do it. I guess when you have a big dream you work your mind at it.
I've been an administrative assistant for 10 years and I've been dealing with deadlines all the time. There is no excuse where there is a deadline. But when it is a dream. It is easier to motivate yourself through it all. Something will get out of it for you.
Hi there;) Yes I agree.. So a little bit about the "deadline". I had needed the profit summary for the quarter. and guess what. Person wasn't able to finish on time. And here's the kicker I had to conduct the meeting with the VP and executive assistants. Now talk about pressure. :)
some might see this as harsh, others harsh but fair and others, just plain common sense...take your pick and define yourself by your choice!
I agree.;) and everyone is entitled to their own take on it.Thanks for reading my blog. Greatly appreciated.

Great post! Unfortunately most people have aloud themselves to have the word "can't" in their vocabulary. Its a shame really, they do not realize how they are limiting themselves. To bad they can't look in a mirror and see what others see. Maybe you can say something like " I would love to see you promoted so let me advise you on the areas that you need to improve so you can increase your chances. Then go over those area and of course put it in writing so they can reread them and maybe some of it will sink in. This may make your job become easier if they start doing their jobs more efficiently." Sometimes people need to be redirected and of course compliment what they do do right so they do not see this a a negative. Congrats on your progress!
Thank you!! Great advice. ;) I will try that.
