Gone Yearly

Well, I've been a month on premium now. I have yet to earn 1 pence from this, but I accept that it will take time to learn all the steps and get the site fully up and running.

I've decided to work hard at this for 1 year, and if it doesn't take off, well then at least I had fun doing it...

Having fun is a great reason to do anything. You'll succeed much more if you do that. Congratulations on your great decision too. All the best. Gail

Yes, it's fun and you'll love it. You will always get something in return, like new learning, new friendship, so there's no "loss" here.

Congratulations for going yearly. Best decision you made.

Awesome! I went yearly, which makes the price effectively $29 per month, so you only need 2 referrals to pay for your membership. Go for it!

Hi Marc,

I just checked out your blog, towardsawholesomelife.com and I really like the way you are building a blog around your own search for or engagement with a more wholesome life. That makes it very readable. (You have a good writing style that also makes it easy to keep reading - I enjoyed your story about replacing a spoke on your bicycle. Oh and I was pleased to find you already have some videos of you doing your stuff on the site. Nicely made too!)

Just one thought: I would put the Privacy Policy down in the footer. (I am also using the Nisarg Theme so I can show you exactly how to do that if you need a hand.) I'd also move the Contact link up into the main menu. That way, your About page will be more prominent.

Have you started building a list yet? I didn't see an opt-in form on the site...

Do you have any specific targets for where you want your online business to be in a year from now? What does "take off" mean for you?

Any thoughts on creating your own info products, or even physical products to sell on the site?

What if your business does not hit your target, but is breaking even and you have built a site with (let's say) 100 value-packed blog posts each with good longtail keyword-rich content that is pulling in traffic...?

I think you have a great project underway with this blog and wish you all the best as you move forward.

:)

Hello David,

thank you for the kind words. I had a look at your websites as well and found some new inspiration. As you may have seen by the dates on the blog, my site has been dormant for the last 6 months: I got very excited in the summer when I had some time off work, but then my full time job took over again, and I hadn't built the site sufficiently to have enough momentum to keep it going. More importantly, I just haven't really thought of anything obvious I could sell. So with that in mind, no, I have not yet started a list as I don't have enough material that I could distribute through it yet.

If you have any tips, I would be very grateful.
Thanks also for your pointers about the privacy policy etc. I'll have a look to see how I can move that down.

Best wishes,
Marc

Thank you for checking my blogs.

It's easy to get distracted from blogging by life's other commitments. I think it is a good idea to commit to a regular blogging schedule. I publish a new post on my affiliate marketing blog every Friday. I began doing that on a previous blog and now the habit is fixed, even when I have a busy teaching schedule. (I'm an English language teacher in Japan.) When I have time I try to schedule posts several weeks ahead to give me a breathing space.

I would start building a list and worry about what to sell later on. People prefer to buy from those they know, like and trust, so if you get those three things right, the selling will follow much more easily when you are ready. What people buy into is "YOU".

That's a great decision Marc! Those were my thought exactly when I also joined as an annual premium member. Not to mention that it was also cheaper on a monthly basis!

Awesome Marc! Great decision. Have fun building your site and let us know how you get on.
Best,
Anke

Great attitude Marc, if you need any help, you know where to find me:)

Those that give themselves adequate time to achieve success do. That is something that I have learned over the years, not just with my own journey, but with working with 100,000's of others.

I see far too often that people anticipate success in a month and the only thing they deem in business as a success is MONEY, when there are many other non financial successes taking place every day in their business (that lead to money), but they don't give themselves credit for achieving.

I look forward to working with you and seeing your progress in the year ahead Marc!

Thanks for the encouragement Kyle!

Congratulations on deciding to upgrade to an annual premium membership. I haven't made a ton of money yet either but I had the same rationale as you. I wanted to give it a year to see how it went. I'm sure that things will pick up for you. Remember, it is not a get rich quick scheme and that it will take time.
Best regards,
Shawn

Great -- thanks for the encouragement Shawn
