Using SVG in WP
I first couldn't believe it, when WP told me that the upload of SVG files is forbidden. Don't worry, there is an easy solution. Add and acticate the following plugin: Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG). Now you'll be able to use your SVG images like any other image file.

This is good information. Is there any great benefit to using SVG graphics? Are PNG files substantial enough that it won't been seen by the users eye?
WordPress and most social media sites automatically convert Vector images to their own preferred format anyway.
SVG is not an image, it is a program, and although browser technology has improved, some still consider it to be less secure and easier to exploit than other formats.
Image quality, loading time and responsiveness are superior in SVG, so I hope it can be made safe and is eventually allowed in WP core.
Browser security has improved and maybe WP will adopt it but the debate has been going on for years and it's anybody's guess when it will happen. ~Jude
Thank you. Good to know, sounds like I will stick with what works
