Hey Erin I don't know what theme you are using. Try going to appearance > customize > front page > set front page to static and choose blog

If that doesn't work feel free to send me a PM

I'm wondering if there is a way to set up the site so that you can have featured products or promos on the first page instead of a blog roll.

Also I would like my produc

I have quite a bit of Woo experience.

Listing products rather than blogroll is actually a Wordpress question. Not Woo. In your admin panel go to Settings > Reading. At the top is "Front page displays". You can change that to any static page. But I would create the page first, knowing that it will be your new home page. So keep that in mind when you create it. It should be user-friendly. Not just a list of products.

I would also plan on how visitors will get to your blog roll since it won't be the front page anymore. Maybe you create a new page titled blog at http://yoursite.com/blog. And maybe you figure out how to list the blog roll on your new front page.

To list featured products, you first have to set the featured products. To do that go to your product list and look for the column to the right with a Star. Clicking the star icon will set the product as featured.

Once you have that, you need to figure out how to get a list of featured products on the front page. There are various ways to do that. A good WooCommerce compatible theme should support that feature. I use one called StoreFront Pro. With it, I can just add a "featured products" block onto any page.

You can also do it with a shortcode. On any page, you can enter a variant of this text.

[featured_products per_page="8" columns="2"]

That should add a 2x4 grid of 8 products. Adjust the numbers to your needs.

Woo also has a products widget that you can use to list featured products.

I'm sure there are plugins too, but I'd only use that as a last resort if the above won't work for you.

Adding products to menus is just like adding any other item to a menu. However depending on how many products you have, that could get out of hand. Maybe you have a menu item for your shop page. I do that, but I also have product categories that are sub-menu items under the Shop menu.

Thank you so much for the most details reply. I will try all your suggestions and let you know how it goes.

Most appreciated!

You're welcome. Glad I was helpful.

REALLY INTERSTING STUFF, I AM GOING TO TAG THIS QUESTION FOR LATER...THANK YOU BOTH :-))
