Hi Folks,

I wanted to ask you which is more challenging for you.

1) Researching/Choosing a Niche

e.g. Finding a topic to start your online business.

2) Researching Keyword for a Niche

e.g. Finding a keyword to write about within a chosen niche.

Once you have chosen #1 or #2, please explain why as I am doing this to further enhance the live training.

Hi Jay,

I'd have to say choosing and researching a niche were the most difficult for me, especially when I first started out here.

The reason why choosing a niche was so difficult for myself was I wasn't sure exactly what would make it profitable or not. I didn't really know what I should be looking for when it came to choosing one...what criteria to follow to find one that would be profitable and would still be a narrow enough niche to start out in.

Plus, trying to decide whether I'd be any good at being an authority on a certain niche or not was another thing to consider...as in how much do I already know about it and will I actually help people doing it.

Hope this makes sense, lol.
Keep up the live training Jay, they're awesome!
Best wishes :) ~Sherry

I lean towards the niche side being the hardest myself as there are lot of things to write about, but really who can tell which ones will be most profitable?

I absolute loved the Football Snack Helmet case study and would highly recommend this be the 1st lesson as it's a lot more fun than scams and yeah.. nicer looking website too ;-)

I've posted a thread about sharing information, but still still waiting for it to get real traction. Would appreciate your comments as well as hint-hints to big boys should agree it should a tool / forum on the site. In the meantime, it's back to lessons for me tomorrow and to build, build, build.

To me choosing my Niche was the hardest. I spent a lot of time over analyzing the whole process of what could I talk about for the rest of my life.

Once I decided who I was and what I wanted to accomplish, it became easy to research keywords.

Thank you Jay.
God bless

I do my Keyword Research first.

Find if there are plenty of low hanging fruit keywords that U can rank well within the niche.

(I start with QSR

The two are so connected, inter-related & inter-twined, why think of them as two separate things.

Would you choose the Bow or the Arrow... you need both.

The whole is greater than the sum of its' parts.

Success equals Niche + Keywords.

One is not important without the other.

Improving one, improves the other & the whole.

Choosing my niche was a no-brainer. I was born to help people but, OMG, researching keywords for the self-development niche is crazy hard. I get an idea and find everyone AND the dog has done it. Sometimes I don't know if I'm doing the search right. I have given up on using keywords and just go with my gut but wonder if I will ever get traffic.

I think choosing a Niche is a lot harder. This is one of the hardest thing for new people when they just start their websites. They choose a Niche for the wrong reasons. If you choose a niche that becomes stale with you and you loose interest, keywords will not help you write post to keep your website alive.

Researching /Choosing a niche is definitely and by far more difficult because this is a big decision.

You think to yourself if this is going to work or if you can stick with it in the long term. Researching a niche itself is not difficult but this uncertainty part is challenging.

Choosing the niche is more challenging as most would probably say!

the answer, of course, is that after you have the niche you have something to go on to locate the keywords.

Attacking the problem from the keyword end, you can get bogged down into what it is you are actually searching for...

I would agree with the keyword answers. I have found a niche and at least 300-400 keywords I can use as content for that site which is great.

My niche idea came to me in an instant really as I'm writing about something I enjoy doing.

The keyword research was harder because its a very competitive market so I had to be really smart finding low hanging fruits that could be used as topics, pages or posts.

I was also a little unsure on whether i was picking the right keywords too, so this is definitely harder than finding a niche in my opinion

That all being said the WA Training so far has been a fantastic help !! and I am managing to learn and rank on google

I find that keywords are very easy to find using jaaxy or even the keyword tool here at WA. Researching a niche could be harder though if it isn't something you already like but you see that there is profitability in it. In that case researching the niche may be harder. If the niche is something you love, then, researching the niche would be easy. I don't see however that keywords are ever really hard to find, especially if you use jaaxy
