Loving PUSH Notifications!
I took so long to try out push notifications, but now that I have I am kicking myself and wishing I had started long ago when I first became aware of it.
Push notifications is a live notification from a website when you are online. I set this up a few months ago on my parenting website and I have already gained over 1400 subscribers.
This in itself is awesome, but I have found that creating a new push notification to send to my subscribers takes me just a few minutes, compared to some emails that take me hours to write and design before I am happy with it!
Then the last bonus is that my click through rate is so much higher than when I send out emails!
Push notifications are free through Sendpulse which is the email autoresponder I am currently using.
For my latest website I haven't even bothered with setting up email marketing, but I did add push notifications. I have only published one blog post but I already have 3 push subscribers.
Yes oh yes, bring it on!
Here's how to add push notifications to your website using Sendpulse.

Pretty interesting Lynne!. Gotta say though..I freaking hate them push thingies from sites I tend to block them, regardless of what site they came from. Kinda distracting and annoying!
What could be worth split testing though (that is if the option exists), this just popped into my marketing mind is split testing where on the screen you get the best response rate. be it top of screen, bottom right etc etc.
LOL Derek I hate them too and I block them from every website that I visit. BUT they work so I use them.
Thanks for posting this Lynne. It's also made me realise how little I actually know about this stuff. I'm hoping that the 4 weeks of Jay's training I become more familiar with this.
Hope is all well with you Lynne.
Cheers
Melissa
You will learn so much here at WA, if something is not familiar to you now don't sweat it, just carry on with your learning and come back to it when you have some more time on your hands.
I just yesterday read an article somewhere else about the high click through rate on push notifications because people have not become blind to them yet as many people have with pop-ups.
So great to hear about your experiences as well. Maybe I should give it a try:-)
All the best,
Mikael
This is something new to me and it sounds very promising indeed. Do you have to have a paid autoresponder to do this?
Thanks Lynne
Nick
No, not at all. Sendpulse has a free account for email - you can have up up 2500 subscribers and send up to 25 000 emails a month before you have to pay and their price is very reasonable when you do start paying. Plus you can just use their push and not pay anything at all. Check them out!

I've never heard of Sendpulse. Will check it out - thank you!
