WordPress & Wealthy Affiliate Still Win in my Experience

At 64, with a bucket list longer than my grocery receipts and time feeling more precious than ever, I've circled back to what I know best—WordPress. While AI seems to be taking over every corner of the digital world, when it comes to building websites, I haven't found it particularly helpful in the WordPress CMS sphere. Sure, it might exist somewhere in the vast digital landscape, but for now, I'm sticking with what I know like the back of my hand.

For curiosity, I looked outside of Wealthy Affiliate for an equivalent

I've been around since WordPress was in diapers, watching it grow from a simple blogging platform into the powerhouse it is today. In my previous life, I used to build behemoth WordPress websites with more plugins than a hardware store has screwdrivers. But now? Now I'm after something simpler, more streamlined. I want to create a digital sanctuary where others walking the path of recovery can find their way, anonymously sharing the breadcrumbs of wisdom I've gathered along my journey. I searched around and wound up back at WordPress minus bare minimum plugins.

The beauty of WordPress is its simplicity—when you want it to be simple. It's like that reliable old friend who can dress up for a black-tie event or throw on jeans for a backyard barbecue. These days, I'm aiming for the latter: a straightforward platform where I can quickly share resources, insights, and hope with others who might be struggling with similar challenges. Because at this stage of life, while I still love the technical side of website building, I'd rather spend more time living my bucket list than debugging plugins.

After all, there are still mountains to climb (metaphorically speaking—my knees aren't what they used to be), blogs to write, and grandchildren to hug. The website is just one piece of the puzzle, a digital legacy of sorts, where my experience might help light the way for others while I'm busy checking off that bucket list, one adventure at a time.

I've been with Wealthy Affiliate (WA) for about 7 years, and it's amazing to see how much it has grown and stayed up-to-date. Now that I'm retired and have more time, I'm diving into creating a new website, starting from scratch like a new user. I'm having a blast with the learning platform and the organization! I used WA in my job and was always too exhausted to build websites when I got home. So I kept my membership and tuned in for WA training instead of TV and YouTube, (ok, just the UFO stuff). There is so much information here at WA, you never need to leave. It is all current trends. I love actually using the new Hubs, instead of day dreaming for the day when...I even kept my domain name paid for all these years. I may be slow, but I eventually follow through.

I cruised around the web searching for WA alternatives and while some do exist, I have been on those platforms in the past and felt they didn't compare then. I never left WA, even when I was not actively producing content. I enjoy learning with everything I need all in one place.

I asked Bing Companion about WA: This is the answer crafted for me - "Wealthy Affiliate is highly regarded in the affiliate marketing community. It often ranks at the top of many lists due to its comprehensive training, supportive community, and all-inclusive platform. For instance, in a recent review, Wealthy Affiliate was rated as the number one overall platform for affiliate marketing. It has a strong reputation for providing excellent training, tools, and support, making it a popular choice among both beginners and experienced marketers. If you're looking for a platform that offers a wide range of resources and a supportive community, Wealthy Affiliate is definitely a top contender."

My eight WA anniversary is coming up and I'd say that is testimony to the value of Wealthy Affiliate.

Yes, true WA is a real powerhouse in my eyes, and in very large population out there also. And the beauty with the use of WordPress is amazing. However I do need to get more involved again with my website and online journey here. Been here for years and have always believed in both Kyle and Carson from way back in 2009.

Thanks for blog today, Super DavidScott.

Hi Pam!

Thanks for sharing!

I have been around WA since June of 2014. During my payday of growing my business I was not as active either, but freedom has now allowed me more time to engage this great community.

I'm with you! This is the place to be for this industry.
