Man's Best Friend or Enemy?
Dogs are always referred to as Man's best friend. I have no doubt that there are but there are times when they get really sensitive and do not want to be friends with some people.
Claudine had recently gotten divorced and decided that she was lonely so she got a Shih Tzu. She named her Storm. Claudine decided to train Storm herself. Claudine had no children so she treated Storm as if she was her child. She also allowed Storm to sleep in the same room that she slept in.
Before anyone goes out to buy a pet the first thing you should do is to research the characteristics of the animal so you can know what to expect from it.
Shih Tzus make very good watch dogs and are very loving but they can be a problem to train. They have to be given lots of rewards in the form of treats and praises. House breaking a Shih Tzu can take as much as 8 months, and if you are not good at it can take longer.
Claudine had Storm for a while, then she started dating. One night Claudine's date decided to stay over This meant that Storm had to sleep elsewhere. Storm was rather upset and resisted but Claudine insisted.
That night Claudine and her friend Guye rested for the night and Guye was up for an early start. He intended to go straight to work because he was on an early shift. There was just one problem, Guye's clothes were nowhere to be found.
After a thorough search of the house, Guye's clothes were found in the laundry room, they were in shreds. They could not be worn again, Storm had destroyed them. I would never think a dog would be so spiteful.

Dogs are very sensitive and possessive if their owners. It's hard for them to understand why they are being kicked out of their sleeping spot when they have always slept there. Storm was trying to tell Claudine that what she did was not acceptable. It doesn't make it right,. but that was her only way to object to her treatment.
It's sad but people can react much the same way when they are offended by something someone does. Love doesn't always conquer all.
