And just to add what Loes has said, an affiliate program can set a length to their "cookies" before they explode. Beyond that period, you will not get credit for the commission.
Say someone comes to WA through your affiliate link and joins 3 years down the road, you get full commissions for that.
Whereas an affiliate program like Amazon, their cookies are only 24 hours in length, so if someone goes to Amazon through your affiliate link and does not purchase within 24 hours, then you don't get credit for it.
Longer cookies = a good thing.
WA is placing cookies on the visitor's computer when they click on your affiliate link when they enter WA later, the system recognizes the click for the cookie.
Sometimes people come to WA, and do nothing, but come back years later, once attached to your account, always attached to your account.
I once had a referral who was already a WA member, but decided she wanted me as her referrer. She canceled her account and signed up under me. But when she upgraded to premium, she was attached to the account where she signed up in the first place.
A reassurance that all my referrals, once they are signed up directly under me, will be mine, the moment they want to upgrade.

Good one Kyle I notice amazon keeps theirs for a very short time !..and some others do not even tell about theirs..so it is great that WA is like that..thank you.
