How long does it take to create an online business?
Since I have started my online business with the help of the training provided by WA, I have seen quite a few times the question: "How long does it take to create an online business?"
There are also quite a number of motivational blogs here, but how does this help, when you don't know what it takes to become successful?
As in any business, you have to learn the ropes. When you would pick-up a guitar for the first time in your life, do you think you would become a successful player, earning a fulltime income within 2 months? Within 6 months? Even within a year? You only have to learn to hit six strings, at the right time. No big deal, isn't it?
How many hours do you think Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix or Frank Zappa made playing before they had their breakthrough? I can tell you, they even played their fingers to bleeding, to master a song.
A lot of people believe that it's easy to make money online, that's because they have been bombarded with advertisements of getting rich online, without any knowledge or time investments. Pay us, they say, and just copy and paste what we are doing. Those are scams!
You do need an education, you also need to see that 6 months is the bare minimum to give your online business even a chance of a starting success.And every time you want to give up, take up that instrument, you always wanted to play but never did. A guitar, a keyboard, a sax..... as remembrance...;)
Just for the record: "How long did it took you to get your drivers licence? Or as a child to learn how to swim? Or to get your 10-finger blind typing diploma?
So, when you have worked a few hours a week on your website, not even finished the course, and thinking of giving up, because you don't see any progress, scroll up to the first line of this blog, and read it again, and again, and again...

Thanks for sharing Loes, online business like any other thing in life takes time and it depends how much time and effort we are prepared to put into the project. That is why it is so important to do whatever excites us.......brings those butterflies to the tummy.......eat it, walk it, sleep it, speak it, live it and just do it! Straight to the point. In your journey here at WA, you follow the training in order, apply it to your website and post at least three times a week it will happen. If you do not it will not happen.

Good point Loes, but I will still say that motivational posts help others to realize that they are not alone :)
I do not say, that motivational post have no value, it just doesn't help much when you don't understand what it takes.
You can persevere with looking at your analytics every day, and wonder why your traffic is not growing. That's about the same as looking at your guitar, and wonder why there comes no music out of it.

I appreciate your answer - to master anything of quality, takes training and time.
There's lots of 'get rich quick' schemes on the internet. And most don't require that you go through any training. Just have to listen to all their hype and sales pitches. And then, promote, promote and promote. That's all!
I quit all those 'scams' when I was starting to make some money with one of those 'get rich quick' programs. Why? Because I realized that I do NOT want to scam people. I don't want to take money from people who have no idea what they are really doing. People are willing to throw money at their computer, so to speak, in hopes to 'get rich quick' - just like buying lottery tickets.
I almost gave up on building an online income at that point, but then, I decided to look for something based on - Good Business Ethics - that is when I found Wealthy Affiliate.
Here at Wealthy Affiliate, it is a slow build at first because we are first trained to build a SOLID, HONEST and STABLE foundation. Along the way, we learn business ethics and how to serve our customers.

I think the next question is, and it is a question to ask yourself:
'What kind of business do you want to create?'
My answer:
I want to build a business, based on honesty, ethics and service - which takes time to build that trust. But, I believe, it will be worth it!
