Why is consistency important?

You may have heard this many times before: "Consistency is key".

This has proved to be incredibly true in my life and in my journey here at Wealthy Affiliate. Starting a blog was a pretty scary task for me, but when I broke it down into doing specific tasks day by day, it wasn't nearly as scary anymore.

I have managed to do well within a little more than a month, which to me is great progress. I am now the proud owner of a website with content, some affiliate links, a google ranking, comments, even some organic visits.

No money, sales or organic comments yet. This is fine though. Why?

Consistency.

Time is a very powerful commodity, and if we use that time well and add hard work and consistency, we can create soemthing amazing.

One of my all-time favorite quotes is from the Disney movie Mulan: "The flower that blooms in adversity is the most beautiful flower of all".

I think this is why many people end up here at WA. We may be in adversity. We are striving for something new, we may need to make more money, we may even be jobless and desperate. Then we start and we slowly start realizing that there really are NO shortcuts.

No surprise there I guess, that's why we may have been desperate to begin with. But we need to use the time given to us well, because that time will pass anyway. Might as well do something productive. :)

Why Consistency?

Why not hard work? Why not money? Why not stressing and getting everything done TODAY?

Because we need to be consistent. This is not a sprint, it's a marathon. We can't use up all our energy in one month and then start wondering why we aren't rich yet.

Just like with any business, good things take time.

How can I be Consistent?

  • Set a goal for every month, and every week. For example, I am currently aiming to write 3 posts on my website a week. I am also aiming to be finished with the online training by the end of this month. Realistic goals.
  • Do some planning! Plan your week so that you won't get caught off guard with too much work in the middle of the week.
  • Keep up your positivity. Don't burn yourself out, take time to relax and de-stress as well.
  • Keep going. Sometimes, you may feel like you have no inspiration, you start doubting if you'll ever be successful. This is the time to look back at all the great things you have learned and achieved so far and CONTINUE.

Consistent, persistent, hard work. You can't fail that way.

My WHY.

I wrote this post to inspire myself just as much as any of you. Some days I wonder if I will ever really get the hang of this, other days I feel like I'm on fire. On the bad days, I think I'll come back and read this post.

I am working a full time job as a dietitian, and some days I am TIRED. Being new to something is hard, and I am just such a newbie this year.

I live in a new town, I started a new job, I am new to internet marketing, I am new to being away from my family, even my relationship needed to absorb a few new challenges this year.

So, if you're feeling down: you are not alone. Just keep going and keep being consistent, good things are just around the corner for you.

Thank you for reading along :)

whaaau! that's absolutely encouraging, I have notice setting goals and being consistent is the main powerful key to succeed in whatever dream you want to achieve.

Am surprised on how you have achieved alot in quite a short period despite the challenges you noted on your blog.

As you said, " you wrote this post to inspire yourself ", lemme say, it has inspired many people including me.

Sometimes we feel like giving up due to many challenges we face in life, but when we look back and se and realise what we have gained, we encourage ourselves with that great word, "CONSISTENT".

With that, am back in full swing.

Wish you success.
Regards from,
Bruce.

Hi Bruce!

Wow, that is a great comment to read, I am so thankful for your kind words! You are so right, all we can really do is be consistent, because each day will not be our best.

I have been on a little hiatus because work has kept me busy, but I'm back now!

I am so glad that this post motivated you, I feel very humbled that you found value in something I had to say.

All the best to you Bruce,
Lize

Hi Bruce,

Why don't you send me the link to your website so that I can go and check it out?

I think I may have a few tips if I know what you are struggling with.

Hi there!

Sorry I am only getting back to you now.

The biggest piece of advice I can give you is to start using larger images, keep them center as you did for most of your articles, just make them bigger.

You can also add a featured image to each article you post, you will find it on the bottom right side when you are editing an article in WordPress.

There are no big issues with your articles itself, but I would try to use paragraphs. I'm not sure if it is just your theme, but it seems like each line is a new sentence, which confuses the reader.

Aim for articles longer than a 1000 words, they just seem better researches.

Also, try playing around with your menus and widgets, there is training on this site on that as well, you can just search for it in the top search bar.

Hope this helps! You are doing great, just continue with the training and you will learn a lot of what you are wondering about.

Good luck!

Hey, Am so grateful for that piece of advice, am looking forward to doing that.
thanks.

A good motivational post Lize.

Thank you Sara!

You are very welcome x

I like this part: "I wrote this post to inspire myself just as much as any of you"

That is something I say to myself all the time when I am writing, editing, and creating things for my website.

Thank you very much :)
