Here and Now: my story
Many years ago, I had the privilege of helping a group of elderly Australian Aboriginals who had decided to return to traditional life. This means that they wanted to walk away from modern conveniences and comforts and return to living with the Earth. We would walk with them some 200 miles into the continent's interior so they could live safely and peacefully in Land dedicated to First Nations—Arnhem Land.
Our job was to build shade shelters along the route so they could rest during the day and walk at night. This is the hottest place on Earth!! Searing heat was a challenge for everyone!
I got to know them very well, especially their leader, Ninija. And one day I asked her what she thought was the best way to live. She said without hesitation,
'in the Now-and-Here Lands.'
At first, I wasn't sure what she meant, but soon I realised. In so-called civilised life, we are so distracted in every direction! Our minds skip around from the imaginary past to the unknowable future! In traditional tribal life, there are few distractions.
And Now-and-Here is the only place to find true happiness and your true nature!
So, during each day, try to resist wandering into the Lands of Frown and Tears - the past and the future!!
Time is just an intellectual concept that First Nations do not know or recognise.
Let it go, and you will live smoothly and naturally!
Here's to your true happiness and success!!!

Love it Lindi! The best place to live is the here and now!
The past is just that (although we can learn from it) and no one knows what the future holds!
Take care my friend and enjoy a wonderful week! :-)
