Sick Day or Mental Health Day?

I gotta hand it to you, as entrepreneurs, sometines it seems like it would be easier to have a job with PTO available to just call in sick or take a mental health day.

Let me explain a bit. Today was just one of those days. No matter how hard I tried, things just weren't falling into place. In my head, I had created my schedule. Get up, do my morning routine, get some training done at WA, feel like I got stuff accomplished, cook dinner.

I woke up tired. Ok, since i create my schedule, I can sleep a little longer. I get woken up by telemarketing phone call because I forgot to put my phone on silent. Ok, time to get up anyway.

Got dressed, my zipper split on my zip-up hoodie. No big deal, put on another sweater.

Go make breakfast, get blueberry juice all over sweater, coffee spills all over the counter. Clean coffee up,, put on different sweater.

I won't go on with the details, but the rest of the day seemed to continue that way. Then I realized... Wow, if all of this would have happened at my job, or before the day started, I might have just called it a day and left work early, encouraging myself to take a mental health/sick day.

Sometimes it's important for us to remind ourselves that it's ok to sometimes just be done for the day, instead of pushing ourselves beyond our physical capabilities. Go ahead, take that sick day. Go watch a movie, let the brain relax.

Then come back tomorrow, and make it a better day.

I like being my own boss. I can give myself a raise, a day off, etc....whenever I choose.

Take time for yourself, make time for others.

Thanks, taking time for me is super important. Before writing this post, I just realized that if I feel that way, and sometimes need the reminder, others will too.

Agree with you, Leslie! We need to be constantly reminded. Have a great weekend! :o)

This is the last thing I did before I went to bed - write this post.

I just knew I needed to share with others that it's ok to take time for ourselves and not judge ourselves so critically.

Hope you're making it a great day!
