Google Suspends Request Indexing Feature
Just a heads up, as of October 14, 2020, the "Request Indexing" feature that is found in your webmaster tools has been temporarily suspended.
They are making tech updates and expect things to be available in a few weeks. Fingers crossed.
Your content will still get indexed; you just can't make a request.
Of course, you can still submit your requests with Bing.
I believe in you!

I kind of wonder if they had started the process of this a couple of weeks ago. I had noticed that when I request indexing for a number of my latest blogs for the last couple of weeks, I didn't receive any emails from WA saying "Awesome, Your Content Is Indexed in Google!".
I was beginning to get concerned that maybe posts were not getting indexed in Google, but it really appears that most of them have, I just don't get the official emails stating that. I will continue though to keep adding content, regardless if I can request indexing or not.
No index requesting was still available weeks ago. And with that said when it comes to indexing there is no timeline.
It can happen quickly, takes weeks or not at all.
Thanks for letting us know.
I stopped requesting index because I already have a sitemap. My content get indexed fast after I write them.
By the way, is it possible to use both GSC and Bing Webmaster at the same time?
I also want to use the Bing Webmaster, but not sure if I need it tbh
I still request and I also check my submission of my sitemap inside GSC and if it's not automatically updated I will submit my site map.
And yes you can use both. Bing has their own webmaster tools and you can submit your content there as well.

Leo, thanks for the information. I just hope it isn't another one of those Google slaps. That was my first thought when I saw the title of your blog in my email. As I read further, I realized that they are updating. Hopeful that will be much improved not the slaps.

Hi and thanks for raising this.
I have been watching comments and seeing others having the same experience. I had two posts that took about 7 to 10 days to index in Google. Then yesterday I published another very long 4,700-word plus post - and I was amazed to find that Google indexed it overnight. I hadn't even submitted the URL. This comes as a big surprise because traffic to my site is still very low.
So maybe they have fixed their upgrade.
I hope everyone else is getting indexed quickly now.
Best regards
Andy
