Google Page 1 but I Received an E-mail
I wrote a review for my MMO website a month ago about a company called Money Marketeers (or Marketeers Money, it's not really clear, but you have to read the article to know what I mean). This company offers dropshipping turn-key websites and doesn't seem to provide honest services. So I wrote a truthful review based on my opinion.
It happened to land on page 1 in Google for the search phrase or keyword "Money Marketeers Reviews". That's exciting and I'm happy about it.
But today I received an e-mail from the company saying that I wrote a "misinformed review" (that's their words) which is hurting their company and they would "love to answer my questions so I can create a reliable review."
Of course, my review may be biased. All reviews are. But I have written my genuine opinion about the company. I didn't lie about anything. I said that based on the information I have found I wouldn't recommend to buy a site from them. And at the end of the article I recommend Wealthy Affiliate as an honest opportunity.
It's actually them who mislead people with their name. When you read my article, you see there are many red flags there and I'm only pointing out at them.
I would like to know your opinion, my friends. What would you reply to them?
And another question: can they take legal action against me?

WOW congratulations on making it to page 1!
I would consider it a plus for the company that they try to make up for mistakes, but if they can't even reply to your questions, then it sounds fishy to me. Seems to me you have another point to add to your review :-)
Thank you Hannie, they are not ready to show their faces or names (or rather one name I suppose), only hiding behind words.
The person who's asking me to take the review down doesn't even put his or her name in the e-mails, which is pretty ridiculous.
There will be another review, part 2 to the first one :-)
Wow! First of all, congratulations on landing on page 1. That's not easy.
Regarding the company, I don't think they can take any legal action against you since it's only a review, an opinion. Do you imagine companies suing all those who write bad reviews about them? lol
As other members pointed out, wait till they answer your questions, and then you can update your review. This will serve to increase your readers' trust.
Please keep us posted.
Enrique
Thank you, Enrique! They haven't provided anything yet, only want me to take it down, but I'm definitely not doing that.
I'll let you know.
Good afternoon Lenka,
I know you are a friendly person. These people reached out to you. Perhaps to test you or they really are upset. Whatever their reason might be, I think you should ask them where they think you are wrong. It is a good idea to include this in your article, as it will show your readers they can trust you. Good luck.
Greetings from the south of Spain,
Taetske
Hello dear Taetske,
I replied to their message and I was told they would provide me with some facts but in the meantime, I shall take the review down. I'm definitely not doing that, but I'm going to add whatever they explain or send me at the end of the review.
Hugs,
Lenka
Congratulations on Page 1, very nicely done indeed. I like Denis's answer.
I'm not all that familiar with the 'law' when it comes to this kind of thing but as long as your 'facts' are verifiable then everything you have stated would be the truth.
It's more difficult when it comes to 'opinions' and 'conjecture'.
I would allow them the opportunity to furnish you with 'their side', it might, in turn, give you the opportunity to publish an 'updated' article or even a follow-up piece.
I also love Denis's answer. Yeah, I only state facts and express my opinion that I wouldn't buy a website from them but I also say that "I'm not saying that you can't succeed..." Nowhere in my article did I say it was a scam, only that it looks shady which is true and everyone who visits their website and checks the facts I pointed at, must see it's true.
I'm waiting for them to provide the facts that would show where I was wrong, I'm going to incorporate them at the end of my article but I'm not going to rewrite anything there.

Taking legal action will be almost impossible as you have not done anything wrong.
You can say what you want because it is your honest opinion.
Many marketers are dishonest and only interested in money, I see it all the time.
Wrting a negative review will lower their income but if they were honest, they would make lots more money.
Take WA for example, giving good training got them already 2 million members.
You probably won't hear from Money Marketeers anymore.
They just want you to change your review so they will get more money.
Don't change your review, keep going on because scammers need to be punished.
Thank you, Alex, I'm definitely not changing the review, but I'm planning a part two, because after the e-mail exchange with this "company" I have more material, and I'm even more convinced something is not right there.
The person who's asking me to take the review down doesn't even put his or her name at the end of the e-mails.
