A New Member At Wealthy Affiliate Post 2

Hello everyone especially the new members. I previously wrote the first part of some advice to new members as well for those who just need to try a different approach.

We often get side tracked because of all the additional training and resources we have available to us. Which is why I am writing a new member at Wealthy Affiliate part 2.

I want to add a little more on the taking notes that I spoke about in part one. There might be times when you are not even online and get this huge idea.

It might be about a keyword, a title or something you wanted to give a try on social media, video marketing, anything.

WRITE it down. Add it in the note section of your mobile device or in a notebook, or any piece of paper you can find.

This will big a big help for those who have trouble remembering things or suffer from short term memory loss, like I do.

Do Not Rush

I know it is hard to not rush due to being excited about building your online business. In the previous post I suggested that you stay committed and take notes.

If we rush it can lead to sloppy notes, no notes and not understanding the lesson fully. Take it from me, I went through each lesson SEVERAL times and I still do.

Except now, I am not able to go back through the lesson and move on at my own pace due to the task for the SWAG challenge change from month to month.

I can still go back through them, I just will not be where I am supposed to be. when the training comes to an end.

Patience is a virtue. You really don't want to move on if you don't fully understand the lesson.

You are more than likely building your first website, and the first one is meant for learning (yes to make money too).

If and when you want to start another niche website, it will go more smoothly if you know what to do and how to do it, without having to refer back to the training for every step.

If you don't understand, be sure to ask questions in the comment thread at the end of each lesson.

If by some chance someone does not answer you within a few minutes, jump over into live chat and ask your question.

If you are in the middle of a lesson or are in the middle of completing a task, please don't wait for a LONG time. This can cause many issues for you.

Use Your Resources Wisely

You are a part of a community that loves to share their knowledge.

Whether it is in training or in a blog here in the community.

If you are having trouble completely understanding, website design, traffic, social media, or anything related to making your business successful, chances are there is training on it.

Kyle, Carson, Jay and other members are constantly creating training.

Jay has live training every week on Fridays or Saturday, depending on what part of the world you are from.

As a premium member you can attend his training live, or for those who aren't able to attend, they are also recorded and then added to the library.

If you type in a keyword in to the Wealthy Affiliate search bar it will pull up training and blogs created with that keyword in it.

Take for example social media, when I type it into the search bar this is what it pulls up. The ones you see with yellow stars are ones that I have bookmarked.

If you come across something that you want to bookmark, just click on the star, a drop down will appear for you to add a tag.

A tag will be something to help you remember what you have bookmarked, like your own keyword or title.

The Best Advice

Take your time and enjoy the journey toward success. Be consistent, and set goals for yourself. Someone recently blogged about "Shiny Object Syndrome".

That wasn't the name of it however, it was the message inside of it. I know for me, I have to focus on this a lot. I get distracted quite often.

Set your end goal and then set your daily goals. If you are starting a new lesson/task, make it your goal to not just complete it, but to understand the process of it.

We are here to learn and build a business for our self. Failure does happen, Even the Gurus have failed, including Kyle and Carson.

But look at what they have accomplished. They built this program, and the community. They started out building keyword list and selling them.

You can make your business happen to. But you need to have patience, dedication, the ability to ask for help, take constructive criticism, and most of all, believe in yourself and in the platform.

I had so much I wanted to say when I had to cut the first post short, but over the hectic weekend, I lost my train of thought.

Since I didn't follow my own advice, and write my thoughts down, I have forgotten some of what I wanted to share with you.

Oh well, maybe it will be another post.
