Internet Connectivity Issues.
I am not sure if this is something relevant to blog about, but I have finally solved an issue with my laptop and I wanted to share.
For the last few weeks, my laptop has slowly been losing connection to the internet more and more. Sometimes it lasts a few minutes, and other times a few days (which is why I haven't been as active around here). I finally had enough today and told my husband that I was going to clean this one out and go back to using my old one. While it is extremely slow, it stays connected to the internet, which is all I need.
Well, my husband, being the almighty genius around our house like always, asks me "is that your only issue? I'll be right back!"
He comes back with this little device (which I always thought was a data stick) that is called LINKSYS. I am sure many of you already know about this, but I didn't even know they made these. It works kind of like an air card, but still connects you through your own internet. It just plugs into a USB port, and bam, never disconnect from the net again! Nifty little thing.
So, I just wanted to share in case anyone else here has had (or will have) the same issue. It wasn't my internet connection, as everything else in our house that uses internet has stayed connected. It is something in the laptop itself that is having an issue.
Have a great day all! I need to catch up on everything I have fallen behind on now!

Great sharing.
This must be useful for those who have similar internet connection issue.
:)
Sounds like the problem had to do with your internal (built-in) network interface card (NIC). The LINKSYS device does the exact same function except it is external. Most people use an external NIC to add WiFi capability to desktop PCs, which normally don't have built-in NICs. The desktop PC that I use at home, for example, has an external NIC.
Either way, the LINKSYS will take care of it.
