Bat Shit Crazy or Business Genius?

What do the names Bezos, Smith and Ford all have in common?

Can you imagine what people must have thought before they achieved massive success - way back when they were all first getting started?

I can imagine them going " Fred, you say you're going to do what with packages? Have you lost your freaking mind - nobody is going to pay you to deliver packages - they already use the Post Office!"

The "Fred" I'm talking about here is Fred Smith - Founder of FedEx.

In fact - it is reported that he actually wrote a college paper outlining his plans for the company he intended to build - and his college professor gave him a "B" and told him it would never work in real life - or so the story goes.

He is estimated to be worth six BILLION dollars... that's his PERSONAL fortune.

That is more cash than most of us can accurately visualize - or even imagine. It is literally several tractor trailer loads of cash!

Before Amazon was Amazon as we all now know it to be - and accept it as real because it delivers the things we want daily - and now no one would doubt its existence or question whether such things it does daily would be possible or not.

Thats because it is self-evident to anyone and everyone that it works!

But when Jeff Bezos first started it, back then it was a much different thing. The mighty company only existed in his own mind - and even when he shared his ideas with his friends and peers - they told him he had a good job already and would be better off just sticking with his "job".

Had he listened...

Well Amazon would never have existed - and we wouldn't be talking about Jeff Bezos because nobody would even know who he is.

The man and his company - and another person who was considered "crazy" by some.

At one point they actually tried to have Henry declared mentally incompetent and wanted to remove him from running his own company which he founded.

It wasn't him that was crazy.

It was the nitwits who tried to stop him.

It's Only Crazy Until You are Successful

So it is with all great accomplishments of every type - and especially when it comes to business and making money.

That pattern repeats itself over and over and over again.

The point of this short story is that it doesn't matter what other people think of you or your ideas - it matters what YOU think, and what YOU believe is possible - what your VISION is - what your PASSION is - and what ACTIONS you take.

Who knows what you might accomplish - maybe something off the charts great - and what people would consider as bat shit crazy ideas - until you actually go out and DO IT.
