Rollercoaster Ride
I have been reading so much on here about the rollercoaster people are on. I agree with this, but I am going to challenge you to look at the ups and downs a bit differently.
I wrote this poem four years ago, and I think it fits well for today.

Life is a rollercoaster. We have ups, and they are perfect. We always feel like they are never long enough. Then we have downs. When we head for the descent, it is hard. We have to work a lot harder to get back up to the top. We try to hang onto the rail at the top, but it doesn’t help. The younger you are the fewer ups and downs you have had in life, so it feels so much more difficult. As you mature in years, you realize that the ups are temporary and the downs are not as low as they use to be.
Life is like the rollercoaster. You work and work and struggle to get to the top which is a happy day, week or month. But once you reach the top, you are not there very long before you have to come back down. When you are at the bottom is when you learn and grow for you climb back up.
But when you are here at WA, the ups and downs appear to come faster. When you begin a descent, you see your dreams shattered, and the upward climb is too much. But you have been doing the same thing in your life.
So my challenge to you and my encouragement is not to look at your accomplishments as a forever thing and your decent as a failure. These times in life are inevitable, and change will always happen. The only way to deal with it is to get back up, climb back in the roller coaster car and head back up.
There will come a time when you have worked so many times to get back to the top that you can stay there longer and see the city lights from up high. The decent will happen, but you have already laid the groundwork. You will not go as far down, and the upward climb will not be as hard.
So brush off that thought of failure and realize you didn’t fail you are only beginning to learn and grow. No matter how long you have been here at WA it is a part of life, and you will have ups and downs.

Thanks, Jerry, It is not one of my best but it does get my point across. I have improved over the past 4 years.

Hi Laura, now that is what I call a fantastic post. Shoot you made me read it twice. For sure this is a copy and paste moment. I hope everyone has the opportunity to read your post. Thank you Laura.
Awwwe Michael, You are always so kind and encouraging.
Thank you so so much, my friend.

Really liked your post, Laura. You said it well and many will be reminded. This is a fact of life and even the rich experience these ups and downs. In some cases even more so.
Failure is only failure if we "FAIL" to get back up and try to do things a different way.
Edison could have given up on the next try but he didn't and look where we are today.
Baby's would never walk if they didn't get up and try again.
It's in our nature NOT to give up and I wonder where that characteristic of our human nature came from?
Moving Forward and NOT giving up,
Wayne
Wayne,
This is a nice addition to what I am trying to convey. Thank you for this and for the compliment. Yes, we do have to get back up. We learn and we grow. And we go again.
