My Mistake Is Your Gain

I am writing today to tell you a story about a mistake I made. I hope to alert you so you can avoid the same headache.
First, let say that today 52.2% of all internet traffic is mobile.
A month ago or so I set up a cool landing page on my Affiliate Marketing site. I was proud of it and excited.
I worked very hard to make sure it was perfect, and all of the information was accessible and easy to read.
I check my analytics frequently. Before I set up my landing page, my bounce rate was at 4%. Pretty good, right? Throughout the past month my bounce rate rose to 80%. I tried everything I could think of, and still, it climbed to ridiculous heights.
Seeking Help
My fear and frustration rose until one day I messaged two highly intelligent members here at WA.
One said that people don’t like what I am putting out there, so they click out of it. This suggestion did hurt a bit, but I have learned never to discount feedback. So I took a look at my content. I felt it was good and ranking well.
The second person looked at my site in depth, which I might add is an exceptional gift to me, because we are all swamped. This person said all looked good and to be patient.

So patient I was while my bounce rate continued to skyrocket.
Mobile View
One day I accidentally checked my mobile view of my website. I found my proud landing page was completely obstructing the ability to see anything. So anyone coming to my site on a mobile phone clicked out and never went back. Thus the bounce rate soared, and my visitor numbers plummeted.
I went into my page builder and set this header flip banner to a "no show" on mobile sites. My bounce rate is dropping by 25%-30% per day since I made these changes.
All of that time and worry for a little mistake that changed the perception and user-friendly atmosphere of my site on mobile view.
Content is King, and if no one can see what you have written it isn't any good!
Lesson learned
1. Always check the mobile view when you make changes to your site. When you customize your site, (at the bottom of customize) you have the option to view the changes on the desktop, tablet, and mobile.

2. Make sure your theme is mobile optimized. Most themes now are mobile friendly. You can find this information under the theme details. If you can't find this information in your theme then google it. Google knows everything.
3. Remove anything from your mobile view that will hinder the menu or the user’s ability to read content. I use Elementor page builder. But for any page builder there should be a responsive option. If not then do not put something on your site that will hinder the mobile view.

I was reluctant to do this at first because I wanted the cool stuff to be visible but it is not cool to your readers if they can’t get to the content.
I am still in the learning process and always will be. I am sure there are members on here who know much more about this subject than I do. Please feel free to clarify anything that will help other members avoid the fear that I have gone through with this mistake.
