Lainey I have the same struggle. It takes me many hours to put out a quality post. My goal was to post three days a week, not its more like one day a week because of the amount of time it is taking me :(

I'm sure you'll get better with practice... I started worst than you but, sometimes, when I feel inspired I write 2 or 3 blog posts a day... so keep going!

I normally write around 1300-1500 words per post and it takes 5,6 hours.

With these product reviews, I feel as if I have become stagnant, and it takes me 3-4 days to complete one review, because I want to be thorough and transparent.

However, if I was just writing for a keyword, I could get a 1000+ word post done in about an hour. But it seems as if product reviews are the way, so my 5-6 posts per week have dropped to 2 max. And then there's the aspect of having finding time to keep at it with having a family and other responsibilities... Sometimes it frustrates me a little but all in all I just keep at it and do what I can, when I can.

Just do it.

Lainey1978 & Lb830 you can make that 3. I'm exactly the same. So now I've been on the same lesson for about 3 days because I can't complete the tasks.
As for writing posts, I decided to get help from Nataniell Ranked #9. So, it seems he really knows how to write and get a lot of traffic. So, I decided to follow his lead. He also has many training videos on other aspects.
But this is the training session on writing: Let me know if it was a help. ....LinaB

I actually did see that article yesterday or the day before (I forget, I feel like I've been working on my current post forever, lol)! It was great! I'm using it as a template actually, for all my drafts.

ETA: I also haven't been completing my tasks as quickly as I'd like. I find myself doing the next task BEFORE I get to them. For example, I did a review post on massage chairs. Then I get to the next lesson, and one of the tasks is to do a review post. Well, I just did one! The same thing happened with Amazon affiliate links before that.

As you move forward you'll get better at using your time for an article. Towards the beginning of my journey I would save a post draft for two or three days so that I could have it perfect. I've learned now that it's actually about really getting the content out there rather than making sure each detail is to perfection.

I now write 1000-1500 word blog posts in about an hour to an hour and a half, I've really dug deep into the industry that I'm involved in and I've made it a fun experience rather than "work"! :)

I actually had quite a lot of fun writing my current post. It's very interesting! But I couldn't just get the content out there because I simply don't know enough. I HAD to research. I suspect I will be on an upward learning curve for awhile.

Wow, how you type so fast and it means that you have all information in your head. Fascinating:)

On some of my websites where I'm doing nutrition research It can take several days for a 1500 word article. I keep thinking, just one more hour and I can knock this one out, and then I wake up with my head on the keyboard. :)

I've learned not to post late at night because when reading it the next morning the spelling and grammar looks like a 3rd grader did it.

One of my sites is a daily news commentary and I've got some tools setup so I can crank out a daily post in about an hour and a half. One thing I've noticed is that by doing a daily post like that it keeps you in the groove and even the long research intensive posts go quicker.

Usually it takes about one hour for 300 words, if I write about universal things such as how to do not procrastinate. But for reviews, wow, I sit third day looking for information:)

I am writing an article on essential oils for relaxation. I'm almost done now, but it's taken me two full days. TWO FULL DAYS!!! Gah.

Yes, I know that you mean. I would like to have magic wand:)

Hi Lainey,
When I first started writing posts for my blog, it took me a long time also. My posts were very inconsistent--some were posted weeks apart. This was due to basically what you said, research and the actual writing. My mentor told me that if I want my blog to get ranked on Google, I have to be writing more consistently. I have now put myself on a schedule where I am putting new posts on my blog once a week. So far it seems to be working in that I am more consistent in adding content. Maybe you need to do the same thing. Feel free to read my post for more information. Hope this helps,
Deidre

That is good advice, thank you!

Pretty much the same here. Sometimes I can just throw something together but it still takes at least an hour to do that.
I appreciate you posing this question because I was beginning to feel like I was falling behind too. But at least we know there are 2 of us with this same issue!

I am trying to tell myself that this is part of the "building quality content" and "laying the foundation" that will hopefully pay off later!

I had similar issues. Got good answers here: Enjoy ;)

That's a pretty cool training...but none of the links have any of the images I need in this instance, unfortunately.

Thank you for all the links! I will be saving them all. Right now what I'm looking for is pictures of certain plants and herbs, so Wikimedia Commons seems like my best bet. I just don't fully understand how to attribute properly.

ETA: Oh wow, that last link you posted has some really great sites listed! I was able to find some of the pictures I needed that didn't need attribution. Thanks so much!

Ok let me know how you get on :)

It didn't work. :(

Ok that looks better, your site has changed, just hit 'synchronise' now and you should be in.

There is no synchronize...and now it's back to telling me there are too many redirects or something.

Hmm ok best wait see what support can do. Maybe it will take a little time for things to 'settle'. Meanwhile support can check that the pointers are correct for WA host space.

It's fixed now. :)

This is what I get, if it helps at all.

Ok so you own the name buywealthyaffiliate.com
You must create a siterubix website, just a basic one will do doesn't matter what you call it, just get it started with a minimal of a theme.
Next go to the place you bought your name from and check you have set the dns servers to point to the wa servers (ns1.mywahosting.com and ns2.mywahosting.com)
Then go to site manager and click the 'Move' button and select the appropriate name.
After the move you will need to click on 'Synchronise' and once you see your new site listed and can log in to wordpress ok, you can delete the old temporary siterubix site.
That should be it.

Okay, so I do have to create a temporary Siterubix one? I thought I wouldn't have to do that this time.

Wait...do I move the buywealthyaffiliate site, or the temporary site?

I believe the way WA is setup to track your login details and create the passwords etc it relies on the initial site being created here at siterubix, then when moved it translates those login details accordingly.
Of course i could be wrong but i think you'll find it will work after the move.

Actually wait a sec, is your hosting somewhere else as well ? I see there is already a page up (all-be-it a sample one) ? If your site name is attached to an external hosting package you should ignore what i said !

Not that I know of...

Have you moved your site to the domain within WA? Are you trying to login via the domain one or the SiteRubix one in your site manager?

I thought I did. As to your second question, I tried to login via Siterubix.

I can see your page. You might want to close your browser, and try going back in through Site Manager.

http://monosnap.com/image/lhCk0CptbBQ44LgD4irbHYhM528XN8

Which browser are you using? You might try another browser.

I'm using Chrome. I was trying to go in through Site Manager. I'm so confused!!! Why can't I do anything???

Have you registered your website in SiteRubix?

I think so...

Hi Tanya,

Are you able to log in to you website admin area successfully.

Nope, I can't do anything.

You'll have to go to where you registered your domain and set up the DNS server info to point to WA DNS servers. It's all covered here.

It can take up to 48 hours for a domain to propagate to a new DNS server. Usually it's much faster than that however. Sometimes in as little as 20 minutes - 2 hrs

I did do that. Yesterday.

Hi Lainey, I promote engagement rings. So, you could set it up like a retail site. Then, consider promoting sets rather than individual perfumes which may be more profitable. You could review the top 10 selling perfumes by country. Whenever I want to buy something, I look for top 10 or top 5 in the category. Consider promoting books on making your own perfume too. Does that help?

Filthy Fragrance has an affiliate program that you can check out.

http://www.flexoffers.com/affiliate-programs/filthy-fragrance-affiliate-program/

Thanks to everyone who responded! I guess my problem is that I don't like commercial perfumes much...I strongly prefer the artisan ones. As an example, one company's perfumes that I would be reviewing a lot of is Lathers and Lights. http://www.lathersnlights.com/ See? But no affiliate program. Another one is Love Potion Magickal Perfumerie: http://www.lovepotionperfume.com/ Again, no affiliate program.

My question is really, can I make it work another way? Without affiliate programs? Like, with ads? That is what I'm wondering.

Those...are pretty cool, actually. However, say I want to mostly write reviews of products, and most of my products happen to be from small, artisan perfumeries that don't have an affiliate program. Then, how can I make money? That's the part that I'm confused about.

I think if you want to work in that niche you should write reviews of products that are available on the market and have enough monthly searches as per WA keyword tool or Jaaxy. That's the only way I think.
