A pet is a member of the family

What things should be paid attention to when choosing a dog as a pet?

Keeping a pet, its upbringing and education, along with the quality time it provides you, is part of the everyday life of a large number of people. However, with a pet comes serious responsibilities.

Anyone who wants a pet should first pay attention to himself and his rhythm of life, especially if it is a family. All family members must be prepared for the fact that it will be a family dog, and if it happens that one person will not take care of the dog, later there will be a problem in raising the pet. Therefore, people have to think about the kind of life they live. Are they among the people who travel often and, as they say, “live in suitcases?” If that is the case, then either they need to consider some small breed that can travel and accompany them or such persons should not consider a pet.

It is similar when you are alone in the household and spend eight, nine or more hours away from home. For such people, it’s just not a dog, maybe some other pet. So, first of all, you have to define your own lifestyle. In addition, it is very important to know what kind of person you are and what your habits are. If you are active, you like to run for example, then you need a more active race that can follow that. If you are a person who is more tied to the house, you sit in front of the TV, you don’t like special physical activities, that race must follow your style and rhythm of life.

And never get a pet, or "fur person" at Easter, Christmas, birthday, etc. There's just too much going on, and it isn't fair to the cat, dog, rabbit, etc. ;)

Yes I agree. Pets are a very big responsibility

I couldn't agree more with you there Lady!!

Owning a pet is a HUGE responsibility that many do not realise until they have brought the poor, unsuspecting animal into their residence...

Where I live, during the recent pandemic (or whatever), people were rescuing and buying pups at an unprecedented rate, so they could have company whilst stuck at home...

Great one thinks... NO!! Now life has gotten back to a semblance of what is was before and many need to go back to the office full time...

They realise that they can't look after a pet... what happens??

The pet shelters are inundated with unwanted animals left by selfish people who only thought about themselves and not what was in the best interest of the furry friend they decided to get as a stop gap to inflate their egos at the time...

Oohh I could go on here, as it really hits a nerve with me, but I will leave it at, for now anyway my friend!! 🐾🐾

Pets are so special but they’re also a huge responsibility.

Susan

Very true words, indeed, Lady!
