Shiny Objects
Now that the weather has turned, we have all kinds of new distractions to deal with in the woods.
Today, I not only had a dog in heat (female dogs get stupid when in heat) but just as we got started on our first search problem, Gracie met a little forest creature. At least it had spots and not a white stripe down its back.
This little fawn took off and ran about 50 yards into a swampy patch. Gracie was right on her tail. Then, here comes the fawn and Gracie is still mired deep in the mud. Nice Black Stinky Mud. Now the fawn ran right past me, and hunkered down in the grass about 10 yards away. Gracie eventually came back. I walked upwind of the fawn so we didn't have a repeat performance. Needless to say, the problem was pretty much ruined.
At the most unexpected times, shiny objects can pop up in your path. You have a choice to chase them and be chastised when you realize that they are fleeting promises or you can take the high road, use the techniques taught here and take the safe route.
You will be far ahead.
While I was travelling back to my home last weekend, I listened to some podcasts by another marketer. I laughed the whole way home as he had taken a grey hat approach to his marketing. Panda hit him hard, then Penguin froze him out. He finally was telling his numerous followers that white hat is the way to go. It took losing his income. Twice. before he woke up and came to the conclusion that what is taught here was the right way to go. Of course, he isn't a WA member.
He could have saved so much time if only.....

Good morning, thanks for sharing these thoughts.
Finally it's proven that only when you are focused on your goals you can achieve them . Unfortunately when we want it fast we are attracted from shiny objects and at the end we don't even remember our goal.
George
man you hit that one on the head, my nutered JAKE, {GOLDEN RETRIEVER] gets there and then just turns to me like he is saying "now what? DAD"
Just arose in the UK we have a bank holiday, that was so nice to wake up to, made great reading. Thanks
Yeahhhhhh....me too. Can't say I wasted my time because I really needed to learn about the shiny object syndrome. So I'm sure you can appreciate my relief and gratitude at being HERE. Enjoyed your blog!
Nothing wrong with those creatures with stripes down their back. When I lived in Fort Langley I had a family under the cabin. I didn't bother them and they didn't stink me out.
Wonderful analogy between Nature and WA Marketing… Thank You for sharing your many wonderful experiences in life.
Craig,
Thanks for sharing. Reminds me of "If you dont have time to do it right the first time, when will you have time to fix it."
Have a great week.

Thanks very much for sharing, dear Craig, especially when you mentioned "Panda hit him hard, then Penguin froze him out", lol. ;)
Certainly white hat is the best and safe route to take. :)
